From the very first Redbud Spectacular to today, OQHA has always been an organization we've believed in. Thank you to the association, the ropers, and everyone who was a part of this. We are humbled, we are grateful, and we will never forget this.

All proceeds from today’s jackpot in the roping events, Thursday, May 28, will go to benefit Steve Orth following the tragic fire at Orth Ranch. One of the 3 original supporters of The Redbud Spectacular, horsemen will always support horsemen.

Thanks to every single person who bid, shared, donated, and showed up for this auction; together, we raised $136,390 for Orth Ranch. We are blown away by the generosity of this community.

What's next:

Every winning bidder should have received an email last night with your lot(s), total due, and payment options. If you won and didn't get an email, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll get you taken care of.

For lot donors and winners:

Once payment is received, Western Media will email both the donor and the winning bidder with each other's contact info so you can coordinate pickup, shipping, or breeding arrangements directly. Please do not release any lots until you receive that email from us.

An update from Orth Ranch:
They were finally able to bury the horses, days after the incident. It's unbelievable what someone has to endure for the sake of procedure. There are still no answers, so unfortunately, we don't have those to share in this update. What we can share is where things stand at the ranch right now, so you have a feel for it. Many of you have reached out to help, and we want to keep you in the loop as much as possible.
Next step for Orth Ranch, what remains of the barn will come down. It's a necessary step as the ranch begins to look ahead. Fences around the area are cleared in preparation for this. I haven’t seen the plans for the new barn yet, but maybe we can share them in a future update. If you are like me, that would be interesting.
In the meantime, Steve and his team are operating out of a temporary location and continuing to do what they do best. There are horses to ride, customers to take care of, and a program to keep moving forward; and that's exactly what they're doing.
