We can't give enough praise and express enough admiration to Hopmeadow Animal Hospital and the wonderful staff and volunteers who pulled off a successful tag sale in poor weather and reached more than goal! This generous donation from tag sale proceeds means that we will be able to provide life-saving grants for more cherished pets in dire need of veterinary services when their distraught owners can't afford it. Thank you Hopmeadow. We know how much time, effort and work you put into developing and running this charity event. A big shout out to event leader Katy!

It is with shattered hearts that we share the loss of sweet Yeiko.
Because of the kindness, prayers and generosity of so many people, Yeiko was able to receive the blood transfusions and surgery he desperately needed. So many people came together to fight for this precious boy, and there was hope he could live many more years together with his loving family. The surgery was successful and the doctors were pleased with how well the surgery had gone. Needless to say the family was ecstatic and looking forward to a fast recovery and Yeiko coming home. The doctor was even talking about feeding Yeiko some chicken last night.
Then without warning, Yeiko stopped breathing.
The medical team immediately started CPR and did everything they possibly could to bring him back, but despite every effort, our brave boy passed away.
There are no words for the heartbreak we are feeling. Yeiko was a fighter until the very end. He endured so much, and all he ever knew throughout this journey was how deeply he was loved by so many people rooting for him. He wanted to go home and be with his family.
To everyone who donated, prayed, shared his story, and believed in him-thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your compassion gave Yeiko a chance, and we will forever be grateful that he was surrounded by love in his final days.
The family, Guardian HEALS, and Sidewalk Angels are mourning this unimaginable loss together. While we are devastated that we could not save him, please know that absolutely everything possible was done to help Yeiko live.
Run free, sweet Yeiko. You are loved beyond measure, and will never, ever be forgotten. 🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️

Update! Yeiko is in surgery, but we still need your help! Link to donate below. Thank you so much for your help sharing this post and for for pushing us through to make this happen. Even with surgery, Yeiko and his family are far from out of the woods. He will likely need more blood transfusions on the other side to ensure a proper recovery. Please continue sharing if you can! Update:

We have an update on Yeiko - his condition has developed into a critical case. He is being rushed to the Emergency Room -Angell Hospital in Boston. Without the needed transfusions Yeiko will die and his owner serving our country will not get to see his dog again.Yeko is on the way to the Emergency Room for life saving blood transfusions.
