Since we changed locations in 2011, we have placed over 48,000 animals in their forever homes. Beyond adoptions, we also have one of the largest public low cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics in South Carolina. We’re proud to introduce our Homeless Outreach Project - an initiative dedicated to providing essential veterinary care to pets belonging to members of Greenville’s unhoused community.

Through this project, we’re able to bring care directly to pets who may otherwise face barriers to veterinary services, including vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and other essential wellness support. 🩺🐶🐱

Because being unhoused shouldn’t mean having to choose between caring for yourself and caring for your best friend.

🐾 WE NEED FOSTERS! 🐾

Some of our sweetest pups need a little extra TLC right now - and today, we’re especially looking for a foster home for Harvey. 💚

Harvey has already had a rough start to life. He was found missing half of one ear and with significant trauma to his nose and mouth. And while his adorable little snaggle tooth is absolutely stealing our hearts… this poor goofball has also come down with a puppy cold. 🥺

Shelter life is hard enough. Recovering from injuries and fighting off the sniffles in a kennel? Not exactly the spa day Harvey deserves. What he needs is simple: a soft place to land, a quiet space to rest, and someone willing to love on him while he heals.

And Harvey isn’t the only one! We’re also looking for foster homes willing to open their doors to puppies and adult dogs with upper respiratory infections (aka shelter sniffles). Sometimes, the best medicine is simply getting out of the shelter and into a cozy home.

We provide EVERYTHING your foster needs - food, medications, supplies, and support from our team. You provide the loving home, a little patience, and plenty of couch time.

Harvey has been through enough. Let’s find this snaggle-toothed sweetheart somewhere safe to heal. 💚🐾

Meet Ross, the little bully mix with the biggest jowls, the sweetest soul, and big baby eyes you could get lost in. 💚

At just 2 months old, Ross is already proving to be quite the little adventurer! He loves exploring cars, checking out everything around him, and most importantly, getting plenty of time in someone’s arms. Because when you have cheeks this kissable, you were clearly made for snuggles. 🐾

Ross is the kind of puppy who makes you stop and say, “Oh my goodness, LOOK at that face!” And we’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love the second you meet him. This sweet little guy is ready to start his next chapter with a family who will give him all the love, patience, playtime, and good, long snuggles he could ever want.

Thank you so much to Fairway Subaru for giving Ross the most adorable feature, and letting this little cutie show off his modeling skills behind the wheel!

🍂 THE FALL HAUL IS HERE! It’s time to Stock the Shelter! 🐾

A few times a year, our community comes together to help provide GHS with the everyday necessities that keep us running. From keeping bowls and toys squeaky clean with Dawn dish soap, to making sure puppies and kittens have fresh, cozy blankets with liquid laundry detergent, to hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes for fighting the everyday germs that come with caring for hundreds of animals, these simple supplies play a BIG role in keeping our shelter clean, healthy, and ready to care for every animal who walks through our doors.

And this September, we need your help with the Fall Haul!

Join us for our donation DRIVE on Friday, September 11 from 10:30 AM–5:00 PM at our Adoption Center at 305 Airport Rd. Whether you’re an individual who wants to make a difference, an office looking for a team-building opportunity, a classroom ready to work together, or a group of friends looking for a way to give back, there’s a place for everyone in this effort.

Every bottle, box, roll, and donation allows us to spend more of our resources where they matter most: caring for the animals. 💚

PUPDATE: Copper is in a foster home!

🚨 COPPER NEEDS OUT. URGENTLY. 🚨

Copper is only 2 years old, but the world has already been a scary place for this sweet hound.

For much of his young life, Copper was kept outside. Now, inside the shelter, his anxiety is overwhelming. He is so frightened of everything beyond his kennel that he sometimes urinates on himself. Truthfully, we don't think the shelter is where Copper is going to find his confidence.

Because underneath all that fear is a dog who still wants to trust.

When you offer Copper a gentle touch, he leans into it. Just a little. As if he's saying, "I don't know if I understand this yet... but I think I like it."

And look at that face. Those perfectly droopy hound eyes. Those enormous floppy ears. That sweet, soulful expression that hound lovers know all too well.

Copper doesn't need more time in a kennel. He needs out. He needs a quiet place to decompress, someone willing to be patient with him, and a family who will show him that the world doesn't have to be frightening. We truly believe there is a happy, confident, goofy hound hiding underneath all this fear. But he needs someone to give him the chance to come out.

Copper needs a family. He needs OUT.

Meet Apricot, the tiniest little fashionista you ever did see! 🎀

This teeny-tiny black puppy has officially stolen our hearts, and she’s making a VERY strong case for pink being her color. 🐾

Just look at her all dressed up in her precious little dress! She may be small enough to fit in your lap, but Apricot has a personality that is anything but tiny. She’s sweet, adorable, and somehow manages to look like she was born knowing exactly how to work a camera.
