Surrendered by owner: "Nipping at the kids".

St Peters, Missouri
Rooster ❤️
Male, 1.5 years old, 46 lbs, neutered
Friendly with dogs & enjoys playgroup
ID # A531836
Intake May 14
Available NOW

Staff Notes ❤️
Let's just say... he is a VERY good boy.
Rooster is one of those dogs who wins people over with his sweet personality. He's affectionate, enjoys being around his people, and has a calm, mild-mannered side that surprises many who meet him.
Rooster was surrendered after concerns about him "nipping" at the children. As a Cattle Dog, this behavior is often rooted in instinct, rather than aggression. Herding breeds were developed to control movement, and without proper outlets, training, and understanding of the breed, those instincts can show up in ways that create challenges in a family setting.
What Rooster needs isn't punishment — he needs people who understand him.
Rooster is looking for:
- A breed-savvy home that understands herding dog traits
- A loving family committed to meeting his mental and physical needs
- An active lifestyle with opportunities for enrichment and adventure
- A dog with similar energy & play style

Supervisors Christopher Covington and Curtis Johnson will kill her 2pm (Pacific) TODAY June 1, at the most abusive "shelter" in the nation: director George Harding's deadly
San Bernardino County Animal Care Devore "Animal Shelter". 💔

They already catchpoled, strangled, & abused her. She has the telltale symptom, that so many Devore dogs do: a hemorrhaged, blood-shot eye, from strangulation.

Now, pretensed on the very fear they created, by abusing her, they will kill her.

They will catchpole & strangle her to remove her from the kennel, stuff her into a rolling cage, roll her across the property to the kill building, yank her out with the catchpole, pin her to the floor with the catchpole, and lethally inject her.

Nothing about it will be "humane".
Everything about it will be abusive.

How many times have we seen it?
A heeler catchpoled, abused, and terrified, by Devore "Animal Shelter" staff, and then killed, pretensed on the very fear they created, by abusing them.

This is what they do, every day: abuse & kill.
And make no mistake about it:
the shelter "leaders", the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health "leaders", and the San Bernardino County elected supervisors, are all entirely aware & ultimately responsible.

Since 2023, staff abused & killed *at least* 21 of your heelers. The same old story of abuse, fear, and killing, on replay, at director George Harding's abusive & deadly Devore "Animal Shelter". 💔

Intake May 26

May 31 "Behavior Evaluation", conducted by the same staff who strangled & abused her with the catchpole, and still haven't achieved GED-level use of grammar.
"Displays defensive aggression– barks, growls, bares teeth. Fearful body postures (lowered head, tucked tail, ears back, whale eyes). Dog is fearfully aggressive, will not allow handling, growls and lip raises on approach and if reached for. Dog is uninterested in treats. Hard stares. If able to runs to other side of the kennel, ears pinned, tail tucked. If attempting to leash dog snaps at leash."

Time to take off the gloves. 💥
And fight for one of yours.
Make no mistake about it:
the fabricated "Known History of Aggression" is how manager Javier Gutierrez and "rescue coordinator" Alma Gandara will soon "justify" killing this very good boy, at director Marcia Mayeda's deadly County of Los Angeles - Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. 💔

Think it's bull?
TELL THEM.
Make them hear you. ❤️

Eligible for euthanasia NOW.

Euthanasia deadline?
"Whenever we feel like killing him, and it's nobody's business", basically.
Marcia and her deputies, despite their bloated salaries, refuse to publish deadlines.
No public plea. No transparency.
Because it's easier to make their employees quietly kill, and shoulder that burden. 💔

⭐2024 salary + benefits for the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control "leadership" team?
