🥇 A peek at what’s waiting for 1st place! There’s some goodies in there for your pup AND you! ❤️

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place aren’t the only winners we’ll have!

Along with our three main placements, we’ll also have four special picks, each chosen by a local business that has helped make this contest possible by donating a service that they specialize in:

🏆 Cooper’s Pick — Coopers Cup
🏆 Top Dog’s Pick — Top Dog Academy, Inc.
🏆 BPS’ Pick — Batts Pet Services
🏆 Fluffy Puppy’s Pick — Fluffy Puppy

Each of these businesses will be choosing their own favorite costume from the entries, so there are even more chances to be picked!

I’m so thankful to all of the local businesses who have donated prizes, agreed to help judge, and supported this little contest from the beginning. It’s been so much fun putting it all together, and I can’t wait to see even more submission roll in!

And remember, all proceeds from the contest go to the Humane Society. Don’t have a pet or a costume but still want to support us? We are accepting donations through the same form!

If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time! There’s 8 days left! The entry form can be found through the link on the Batt’s Pet Services Facebook and Instagram pages.

🏆 Meet the judges for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place! 🎃🐾

I wanted to take a minute to introduce the three organizations choosing our top three winners. These aren’t just businesses I asked to participate — they’re organizations I genuinely know, trust, and appreciate.

🥇 1st Place — Humane Society of Eastern Carolina
It felt especially fitting to have the Humane Society choose 1st place since all proceeds from the contest are going to them. As a pet sitter, I often ask how the pet came into the owner’s life, and 50% of the time that story starts with them going to the local rescue. They are always hosting events to get the most exposure for their adoptable pets, so please if you are looking to add to your family check them out!

🥈 2nd Place — East Carolina Veterinary Service
EC Vets is especially personal to me because I take all of my animals there. One of the things I love most is the family-style atmosphere they’ve created. From the doctors and technicians to the receptionists who greet you when you walk in, the entire team makes you feel like you and your pets are genuinely cared for. Arlo, Callie and Rue are forever grateful for them! I’m really happy to have a team I personally know and trust helping choose our 2nd place winner! ❤️

🥉 3rd Place — Winterville Animal Care
This one is also very special to me because I used to work at Winterville Animal Care. I got to see firsthand the care they put into their patients and the people who love them. At the very beginning of COVID, I had the opportunity to be a part of this well-oiled machine of a team. That’s also when I got my boy Arlo, and they loved him like their own! When I reached out about the contest they said, “How can we support you?”. Six years later and they still look out for their people👏, that’s the best example of community! The last thing I will say about them - they were named Best Vet Clinic in Pitt County for 2026, big congrats to everyone out there!❤️

Thanks so much for supporting my small business!

You may have noticed we’ve been using throughout this contest, and it’s there for a reason!

We’re lucky to have local small businesses that are willing to give back and support things happening in our community. This contest has been a fun way to bring some of those businesses together for a good cause, and we want to return that support by helping spread the word about them too.

So while you’re checking out the contest, take a minute to check out the local businesses tagged below!🐾

LoLo's Kitchen LLC——> they’ll be donating a winners choice of a half dozen cookies🍪
Pamlico Pirate Health & Wellness——> they’ve decided to offer a free 1 hour session of personal training in a private setting💪
Barks & Bakes——> they’ll be adding some hand baked dog treats for some of our winners!🦴
Kinston Kennels——> they’ve agreed to donate a few bags of their all-natural top selling treats! 🌱

I can’t thank these businesses enough for agreeing to help me get this idea off the ground, and I’m so excited to build connections with each one of you❤️
