Thank you Julie for this write up about the PWCCR Short Dog Herding Tests:
Here are some photos from the first PWCCR Short Dog Herding Tests on August 28, 2026! We had judges Val Manning and Karen Trimble and 46 entries! It was a very fun, successful event and I am so grateful for the volunteers! Herding committee volunteers included Marisa Johnson as Herding Chairwoman and scribe/timer, myself as Herding Secretary, Carol Swinney on Farm Dog Certification and Hospitality, Beth Merrill and sister Jan Crawford on Farm Dog Certification, Julie Yamane as scribe and timer, Hannah Hazlett as Runner and gate steward and Britney Mazzer as stock manager. A drawing was held for the test volunteers (a Door Dash gift card and Treat bag/dog water dish donated by PWCCA member Vicki Northway, and Julie Venable). Congratulations to all who qualified in PT, HT, Herding Instinct Certification and Farm Dog Certification! Thanks to Val and Karen for excellent work and great remarks afterwards. Thanks to the Continental Divide Herding Association members who were there supporting and mentoring us through the trial. Thanks to Falon Hibler for taking photographs. We got great comments like:
“This was the most fun and challenging Farm Dog Course I’ve ever seen!”
“I would never have done this unless it was a corgi event.”
“Very well run event!”
“Fun, relaxing, small event was perfect for my schedule and my dog.”
“Val has a great facility!”
