The Legends are growing up!

It’s hard to believe our Sculpin x Evie 2026 “The Legends” litter, co-bred with our friends at FoxRest Australian Shepherds, is already 16 weeks old. We absolutely love watching these puppies grow, develop, and begin training.

We are incredibly fortunate to remain closely involved with several of these promising youngsters. Toast! is co-owned with Foxrest, while Icon and Bet are co-owned with their wonderful families as we look toward their show potential. And, of course, Finch, who Harper has the privilege of co-owning for future juniors opportunities.

As breeders, there is something incredibly rewarding about watching a carefully planned litter develop into the dogs we hoped they could become. There is still so much growing and learning ahead, but we couldn’t be more pleased with these puppies!

We are so grateful to Foxrest for sharing Evie with us, and the wonderful families for loving these little Legends. We can’t wait to continue being part of their journeys and seeing what the future holds.

Our goal at Enroute is always to produce dogs that can excel in the performance ring while still holding their own in the conformation ring. We strive for that beautiful balance of form and function, producing versatile Australian Shepherds that are competitive, capable, and true to the breed we love.

But at the end of the day, our bare minimum is to produce dogs that are wonderful assets to their families. Dogs that are adaptable, confident, and eager to participate in whatever adventures their people dream up. Not every dog we produce will be a champion, and not every family has aspirations of competing at the highest levels, but every single one of our dogs deserves to have a fulfilling life as a beloved companion and an enthusiastic teammate.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that our lines seem to have missed the sentence about the Australian Shepherd being “reserved with strangers.” Our dogs have never met a stranger, only a new friend they haven’t introduced themselves to yet! And while we certainly value the characteristics that make our breed what it is, I absolutely adore the happy, outgoing, up for anything personalities our dogs bring to their families.

Which brings me to Sawyer & Lisa (Sculpin x Glyph), who competed in a 5K together this morning! No trophies, no titles, no championship points. Just a dog and her person out enjoying an adventure together. And you know what? As a breeder, that makes me every bit as proud as a MACH.

While we dream of producing titles, what matters most is producing dogs that enrich the lives of the people who love them. Congratulations, Sawyer & Lisa! We absolutely love watching our Enroute dogs live their best lives, both inside and outside the ring.

ASCA Nationals was spectacular for the 2 Enroute girls competing.

Cheers! (Sculpin x Kiwi) was entered in 4 Agility shows, 3 Pre-trials and the Nationals, she qualified in every trial! She ended the week with 1 GS-O Q, 2 RS-O Q’s, and 5 JS-E-OP Q’s. Earning her GS-N, RS-N, JS-O and JS-E titles.

Arrow (Sculpin x Kiwi) qualified in Tracking, Rally, Obedience, and Agility - all the disciplines she was entered in. Some stand outs is a High in C Class for Rally and a sparkly new TD title!

Both girls had a medley of placements and did a lovely job competing in this marathon of a dog show. We are so proud.

Something pretty spectacular happened on the very first day of ASCA Nationals, Chelsea Wood & Arrow (Sculpin x Kiwi) FOUND THE GLOVE! And with that little leather glove at the end of the track, Arrow became the very first Enroute Aussie to earn a Tracking Dog title!

This accomplishment feels even bigger knowing that Chelsea & Arrow were just 1 of only 2 teams to pass their tracks that day. Tracking asks so much of both dog and handler - trust, teamwork, patience, persistence, and a whole lot of faith in your dog’s nose, and hearing these two accomplish something so special made coming to Colorado all worth it!

Arrow is Enroute’s first TD, but this milestone stretches a little farther. She is also Kiwi’s first offspring to earn a Tracking Dog title AND Sculpin’s first offspring to earn a Tracking Dog title! There are moments as a breeder when you step back and realize that the dogs you helped bring into this world are out there doing incredible things with people who love them, believe in them, and give them opportunities to shine. This was absolutely one of those moments.

I couldn’t be more proud of Arrow, and I couldn’t be more proud of Chelsea, both as Arrow’s breeder and as Chelsea’s friend. Watching this team grow together has been such a privilege, and I know they’re nowhere near finished yet.

We’ll do a full ASCA Nationals recap once Cheers! and Arrow finish their final runs tomorrow - but trust me when I say, you’re going to want to stay tuned. There is a LOT to celebrate!

Enroute Aussies hits the road next week!

We’re packing up Cheers! & Toast!, loading approximately 47 things we probably don’t need (and inevitably forgetting one thing we absolutely do) and making the trek to Greeley, Colorado for our very first ASCA Nationals!

We’ve been warned. We’ve been advised. We’ve heard the stories. ASCA Nationals is apparently quite the feat, so for our first year we decided to keep things “light.” And by light, we mean Cheers! is competing in SIX DAYS of agility.

Cheers! will be our girl in the spotlight this year, tackling the pre-shows and Nationals agility while we soak up the experience, learn the ropes, cheer obnoxiously loud for our friends, and enjoy an entire week surrounded by Australian Shepherds.

I’m so excited to step onto the grounds at our first ASCA Nationals with my crazy little redhead beside me (along with the backbone of Enroute - Sam & Harper). We’ve worked incredibly hard for this, and regardless of what happens on course, getting to make this trip and compete together is already pretty darn special.

Colorado, here comes Enroute Aussies! 🥂

Odysseus is looking for the most perfect home.

Both parents are OFA Hips Excellent, Elbows Normal, Eyes clear. This puppy has a genetic panel completed and carries 1 copy of MDR1 - otherwise clear and passed his CAER eye exam. Pedigree is included in the photos. We are located near St Louis Missouri.

This one is a really difficult placement for us. From very early on, Odysseus was our top pick from our Sculpin x Evie 2026 litter to stay here at Enroute and be co-owned with FoxRest. My heart desperately wanted ANOTHER blue boy 😂 but ultimately, my brain (and the future of my kennel) said that keeping a girl made the most sense.

So now I have the incredibly hard job of finding this very, very special boy the home he deserves. Because we adore him so much, I would love to find Odysseus a local home in the STL area where I can continue to watch him grow and, most importantly, cheer him on while he does all the things! (Though being local to STL is not a requirement) This is not a puppy I want sitting in a kennel or just existing on the sidelines. I want him to be someone’s partner, teammate, adventure buddy and family member.

Odysseus had one of the best Volhard temperament tests of the entire litter. The tester absolutely gushed over him, he was her pick by far! He is confident, incredibly people oriented, engaging, happy and just generally unfazed by life. He’s the kind of puppy who seems to look at the world and say “Cool! What’s next?” He loves dogs. He loves people. He loves food. He loves toys. Honestly, Odysseus just loves life.

I’d like to see him in a home interested in agility, rally, obedience, therapy work, or all the above. While he could absolutely do conformation and be successful, I feel this should be an add on if desired, but not the priority simply for his potential at performance. Most importantly, I want him somewhere that he gets to be deeply involved in his family’s life and loved for the phenomenal little dog he is.

Please message me at Taylor Rene Justice for more information.

Vollhard Feedback: Odysseus gave an exceptionally well rounded impression. He was comfortable with essentially everything presented to him and showed a strong desire to actively engage with people. He frequently sought eye contact and remained happy, easygoing, and composed throughout the experience. He comes across as an incredibly adaptable puppy, the type who seems prepared to go anywhere and do anything. His combination of human engagement, environmental stability, and overall complacency made him a very easy puppy to test.

Overall impression: Confident, adaptable, people oriented, resilient, and uncomplicated. In the tester's words: “Very nice.”
