We received some heartbreaking news today. Although Lana’s pregnancy was previously confirmed, today’s X-ray showed that she is no longer carrying puppies. Our veterinarian believes she unfortunately absorbed the litter sometime after her initial confirmation. We are extremely disappointed, but Lana is doing well, and her health is our priority. Thank you to everyone who has been excited and following along with us.

We’ll share updates about our future litter plans soon- but will have some litters later this year early next year🤍

We’re getting closer to meeting our newest Lana × Cash babies, and the anticipation is REAL! 😍

This previous color combo gave us such a fun variety of beautiful babies — fawn pieds, dark pieds, black & tan/tricolor markings, lots of white, and some gorgeous unique markings! 🤎🖤🤍

One of the best parts about this pairing is waiting to see what each little puppy is going to look like. No two are ever quite the same!

As you’re celebrating, don’t forget about your four-legged family members! Fireworks can be frightening for dogs, so remember to:
🐾 Keep them safely indoors or in a secure area.
🐾 Make sure collars and ID tags are up to date.
🐾 Provide a quiet, comfortable place where they can relax.
🐾 Give them a little extra love and reassurance.

Dog Food Facts: Reading the Label 🐾

Did you know the ingredients list on your dog’s food can tell you a lot about what they’re eating?

When looking at a dog food label, here are a few things to keep in mind:

✔️ The first ingredient should ideally be a named protein source, such as chicken, beef, salmon, or lamb.

✔️ Protein helps support muscle development, energy, and overall health.

✔️ Healthy fats are important for skin, coat, brain development, and energy.

✔️ Puppies have different nutritional needs than adult dogs and should be fed a food formulated for growth.

✔️ Not every dog thrives on the same food. Age, activity level, allergies, and individual digestion all play a role.

A healthy diet can contribute to:
🐾 A shiny coat
🐾 Healthy skin
🐾 Good digestion
🐾 Strong muscles
🐾 Overall well-being

Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all dog food. The best food is the one that keeps your dog healthy, maintains a good weight, and agrees with their digestive system.

Consistency is the secret to successful potty training! 🐾

When bringing home a new puppy, take them outside:

✔️ First thing in the morning
✔️ After meals
✔️ After naps
✔️ After playtime
✔️ Before bedtime

When they potty outside, immediately reward them with praise and a treat so they begin to understand exactly what they’re being rewarded for.

Accidents will happen—especially with young puppies. Be patient, stay consistent, and celebrate the small wins along the way! ❤️

The better question might be: Why are they so expensive to produce?

French Bulldogs are one of the few breeds that often cannot breed or whelp naturally. Most litters require:
✔️ Progesterone testing
✔️ Artificial insemination
✔️ Prenatal veterinary care
✔️ Scheduled C-sections
✔️ Emergency vet care when needed

Then comes:
🐾 High-quality food and supplements
🐾 Vaccinations and deworming
🐾 Health checks
🐾 Registration fees
🐾 Around-the-clock care for newborn puppies

Many Frenchie litters are small, sometimes only 1–4 puppies, meaning all of those expenses are spread across just a few babies.

The reality is that responsible breeders invest thousands of dollars before a puppy is ever ready for its new home. Behind every healthy Frenchie is countless hours, sleepless nights, veterinary care, and a breeder who truly loves the breed.

We are excited to officially introduce the newest member of the Bar-B Kennels family — Sadie!

Sadie is our beautiful black Standard Poodle with a sweet personality and a heart of gold. She is intelligent, affectionate, and already winning over everyone she meets. Whether she’s playing outside, learning new things, or soaking up attention, she does it with style and grace.

We are looking forward to watching Sadie grow and become an important part of our program. Standard Poodles are known for their intelligence, athleticism, loyalty, and wonderful family-friendly temperaments, and Sadie is already showing all of those amazing qualities.

We can’t wait to share her journey with all of you!
