🚨🐍 WATCH OUT FOR RATTLESNAKES! 🐍🚨

Poor Dixie had a very scary morning after being bitten by a rattlesnake! Luckily, her amazing parents recognized that something was wrong and brought her in for care.

Dixie was treated with antivenom and spent the day hospitalized so we could monitor her. Thankfully, she’s on the road to recovery!

⚠️ This is our THIRD snake bite we’ve treated THIS WEEK! Rattlesnakes have been REALLY bad lately, so please keep a VERY close eye on your pets when they’re outside, especially around tall grass, brush, and areas where snakes may be hiding.

If you suspect your pet has been bitten, don’t wait—seek veterinary care immediately!

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on our amazing surgery tech, Amanda! 💕🩺

Amanda has been a veterinary technician for many years and has a true passion for caring for pets. She loves taking care of our patients and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved every step of the way. 🐶🐱💗

When she’s not at the clinic, Amanda loves getting crafty and spending time with her own fur babies, Olivia, Stanley, and cat Larry! 🐾🥰

RATTLESNAKE ALERT — PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Just the other day, one of our clients came across this HUGE rattlesnake - the one pictured!

With the recent increase in rattlesnake bites we’ve been seeing, we wanted to remind everyone to be extra careful with your pets while they’re outside. Rattlesnakes can hide in tall grass, brush, wood piles, and other areas around your home or property.

If you think your pet has been bitten:

🚨 Seek veterinary care immediately. Don’t wait for symptoms to worsen.
🐕 Keep your pet calm and as still as possible.
📞 Call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival.

Granger Veterinary Hospital keeps antivenom on hand and is prepared to help treat rattlesnake bites when needed.

Even if your pet seems okay after a bite, they should be seen by a veterinarian right away. Rattlesnake bites can become serious quickly.

Stay safe, watch those curious noses, and keep an eye out for our slithery neighbors!
