A reminder that hard work and dedication pays off. Those hard days with your dog are learning days! Some days feel like training went as smooth as it could go but you will always have days where you or your dog struggle. You always have to remember that your dog is just a dog and things happen for a reason. You have the best dog!

Yesterday I just remembered to breathe and be calm with my dog and that helped so much. Learning to control your own emotions around your dog (especially while on the leash) will help your dog not feel so under pressure. Let all that anxiety go out your feet. Dogs can feel your emotions especially if you are having anxiety they can feel it through the leash. 💚💙💚

Welcome to the family Daphne!

Daphne is a 3 month old golden doodle aussie mix, currently working on her basic obedience skills and is doing amazing! Thank you to Carlton County Animal Rescue! Her current favorite thing to do by far is swimming! Daphne would swim all day if it was possible.

Always learn in the class setting and practice at home. I try my best to encourage those in my group classes to take a step back when their dog isn't doing what other dogs look like they are doing at that moment. Every dog is different, they all have different learning abilities, and can be over stimulated in groups. What works best in class is patience, giving the dog space to slowly work through what it is feeling, and practicing at home. This is why I ask the question at the beginning of class "how has this past week at home been?" What is important is the changes at home, as they will slowly incorporate to positive changes and comfort in social settings like group class. I do everything in my power to keep all dogs and handlers safe during class, so the dogs can see a safe environment among other dogs and people, where they normally might not feel safe.
