We know we don’t post a lot on here. Life seems to get in the way and this weekend we were reminded of how fast life happens.
Saturday evening, our beloved Charlie collapsed at home. We rushed him to the ER vet to find out he had fluid around his heart.
The fluid was drained and we were sent to cardiology to make sure there was no cancer as that is one of the reasons this happens.
His labs were pretty great, xray showed a small mass in his lung but the vet said it could have been from draining the fluid.
He was doing well, so we went home with some meds that could help with the fluid not filling up again.
We stayed all day yesterday, Sunday, with him and he seemed to be doing fine.
This morning, as we were getting up to start the day and as I was talking to the vet to get an appointment with cardiology, Charlie got up and collapsed again.
We rushed him to the ER vet but unfortunately, he didn’t survive.
We are both heartbroken. Charlie was the absolute best dog.
Please give your fur babies a tight hug tonight for us and give them an extra treat in honor of our Charlie.
Rest in peace baby, we will see you again over the rainbow bridge. 🌈🐶❤️
PS: we want to thank immensely the team at VEG ER for Pets, they did such a great job and gave us one extra day with our baby. We were able to stay with him while they worked on him and did all the tests. Couldn’t recommend them more.
