At Dreamcoat Dog Spa, we leave a**l gland expression to the vets because we’re in the business of spa days, not medical rear-end rescue missions!
Here is why we keep our hands strictly off the scoot-chutes:
* Safety First (and Booties Preserved): Squeezing those delicate little sacs incorrectly can lead to painful tears, inflammation, or worse—a full-on gland rupture. No pup (or groomer) wants that kind of drama!
* Leave the Diagnosis to the Docs: When glands aren't emptying naturally, it usually points to an underlying medical issue—like an infection, impaction, or food allergy—that needs a vet’s diagnosis, not a grooming salon band-aid.
* Natural Is Better: Healthy dogs usually express their glands automatically when they p**p. If a fur-baby is doing the dreaded "carpet scoot" or obsessively chewing their tail, it's a signal to call the vet for medical care, while we stick to fluffing, puffing, and making them smell like a dream!
