Sometimes the best way to reconnect is to disconnect. 🤎

No WiFi. No notifications. No rushing from one thing to the next.

Just wide open spaces, livestock, fresh air, and a reminder that some of the best things in life don’t require a signal. 🌾🐂

We’re pretty thankful this is our backyard.

Tell me you run cattle without telling me you run cattle. 😂

There are some jobs where you’re thankful for a good horse… and then there are some jobs where you’re REALLY thankful you invested in a dart gun. 🤣

Around here, both have earned their keep!

🌾 How do we get more young people involved in production agriculture? 🐄

Not just interested in agriculture. Not just following it on social media. But actually involved in producing the food and fiber our country depends on.

How do we get the next generation excited about raising cattle, growing crops, managing land, caring for livestock, and building a life in agriculture?

Maybe part of the answer is simply giving them the opportunity to experience it.

Let them bottle feed the calf.
Let them sit in the tractor.
Let them help gather cattle.
Let them see where their hamburger actually starts.
Let them meet the families who spend their lives caring for the land and livestock.

There is a growing disconnect between the people producing our food and the people consuming it and I think those of us in agriculture have an opportunity to help bridge that gap.

We can open the gate. We can educate. We can invite people in. And maybe, somewhere along the way, a kid who has never stepped foot on a ranch discovers that agriculture is exactly where they belong. ❤️

So I want to hear from you: How do YOU think we get more young people involved in production agriculture?

And if you grew up in agriculture, what was it that made you want to stay?

Sometimes you forget that what feels like an ordinary morning to you might be something someone else has dreamed of experiencing. 🤎

Feeding cattle. Saddling horses. Dirty boots. Early mornings. Long days. Kids growing up learning to work, ride, help, and appreciate the land and animals around them.

There are definitely days when ranch life feels like nothing but a never ending list of things that need done 😂… but then there are mornings like this when you look around and realize just how special this life really is.

And maybe someday, sharing a little more of this life with others will be part of what’s next for us. 👀🐴

Until then, we’ll keep sharing little pieces of our everyday life with y’all.

If you could spend a day on a working Oklahoma ranch, what would you want to do most?

DID YOU KNOW? 👀

Earlier this summer, DG, her unicorn Friday, Tyler, and Judy had the opportunity to be part of a piece for The Wall Street Journal featuring western artist Megan Wimberley. 🤠🐴

It was pretty surreal seeing a little piece of our everyday life 🐎 the horses, the arena, and the western lifestyle we 💕 captured through their lens.

For us, this lifestyle isn’t something we put on for a camera. It’s early mornings, dusty arenas, good horses, cattle to work, lessons learned, and kids growing up with dirt on their boots. ❤️

We’re incredibly thankful we got to be a small part of telling that story.

I’ve had an idea rolling around in my head lately… 🤠

We get to live a life every day that, to us, is just normal! Feeding cows, saddling horses, checking pastures, roping, working cattle and doing whatever the ranch throws at us that day.

But lately I’ve been wondering…

What if we opened the gate and let a few people come experience it with us?

Not a trail ride.
Not a staged “cowboy” experience.
Just real ranch life on a working Oklahoma cattle and horse ranch.

I’m not saying we’re doing it yet… but I’m curious. 👀
