This is a one week ferment of dill pickle chips. They came out so well. 😋 Got the cucumbers from

Several are already gone along with some of the brine. OMG! I am hooked. 🥒 🪝

🍞Besides GF sourdough breads and hot sauce I’ll need to make pickles now. Once you taste homemade fermented ones you cannot go back to store bought.

✨Gimme an Amen on a sunny Sunday!🙏🏻☀️

These two healing edible flowers are still standing tall in my vegetable garden. 🪴

Calendula is well known for its wound healing effects. It was our go to when I scraped a knee or elbow as a kid. My mom still makes a healing cream for any minor cuts, burns or other skin issues with calendula. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying and anti-fungal properties. You can make a tea from it or just enjoy it as a flower in a bouquet. 🌼

Borage has been used to support lung health including asthma and has anti-inflammatory properties that can help with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. It has found its way into the kitchen again as an edible flower to grace salads, drinks and other dishes. 🌿

Hyssop is an ancient herb known for its physical as well as spiritual cleansing abilities.

It is also used for digestive issues, respiratory challenges, sore throats and asthma.

It has been mentioned several times in the Bible and is the main herb of the traditional Za’atar spice blend used throughout the Mediterranean in cooking and baking.

I am beyond excited to have found these seeds at the . Thank you .

I can’t wait to grow it this year in my garden and make my own Za’atar spice blend.

What’s your favorite spice or herb?

I am coming to the end of my fig harvest. This is the first year my tree was bringing forth any fruit. But it’s only 4 years old.

I love these so much and I am grateful to have harvested about 50 figs over the last few weeks. They are delicious!

The tree was a cutting I received from a friend who doesn’t know the variety.

Do you have any idea what variety it might be? TIA🙏🏻

Some days require a mental break and grounding.

Spending time in my garden does the trick.

I love how nature combines the reds and yellows. There is so much inspiration around us when we take the time to look.

Harvested the last of my Swiss Chard from my outdoor tower today.
It’s time to switch over the indoor growing. My indoor tower has some nice growth already.
Are you still growing outside?

This hibiscus plant was given to us as a housewarming gift nearly 30 years ago. We were babes then. Our first house! 😍

It has moved with us halfway around the country, watched kids grow and furry family members join and leave. 🧐

We did the annual dance - it would spend the summers on our patio and cozy up in our bedroom during the winter. 🛌

This past spring it didn’t look so good. I thought it had reached the end of its life. Leaves were dropping and it just didn’t want to perk up.

I was ready to say goodbye and move on! 😔

Hubby couldn’t do it. So he wanted to replant it and give it more fertilizer. 🙄 Does he really think he can wake it up from the dead? What a waste of time!!!

Well, he was right! It’s back to its full beautiful self with tons of flowers! 🌺

The lesson here: don’t give up no matter how long you have nurtured your dream. Maybe you just need more support, love and a larger pot!
