When good dogs get old, their steps may falter, their faces turn gray, and they need a little more care—but their love never fades. They spend their whole lives giving us their hearts, and when they grow old, they deserve nothing less than to have ours in return. Every gray hair, every sleepy day, and every gentle look is a reminder of a lifetime of unconditional love. A love that will never be forgotten even when no longer by our sides.
Caponi, you were a hard one when you first came home. Eating through a door, nearly eating a cat, and being an absolute tank of dog, you definitely made me put in the work. But I'd go through it all again to have some more of you. You became the cats' best friend. I always looked forward to seeing you every day sleeping with them in front of the tv. And it will hurt every time I look and you won't be there. Sage helped you be a puppy again and I wish it could have lasted longer. But I know your legs don't ache anymore, you won't be losing more fur, and you'll be able to see and hear 100% again. I love you old boy.
And Fifi, I know you weren't here long but you definitely left your mark as the small but mighty. You didn't let the giants get in your way and you barked your big barks in the yard. I'm sorry you didn't get the care you deserved in your last home. It festered into bigger problems that no dog should have to deal with. And it was too late to fix them. I changed everything I could to make you comfortable but I could see the pain. I know you wouldn't want to give up on your own. You were a fighter. All 5 pounds of you. Rest easy girl, eat anything you want without the pain, see and smell everything you were missing out on.
Gone but not forgotten ❤️🐶🐾
