Hi everyone! I wanted to post a business update along with an exciting raffle. I will be traveling to The Netherlands to compete with my dog Ori in a world competition June 10-22nd. I will be unavailable during this time but boarding with my wife is still an option if we can plan in advance. This is a very high honor and we are super excited.

A little exciting news to share with you all!

As many of you know, dog training is so much more to me than just a job. Along with helping families build better relationships with their dogs, I also compete in dog sports at a high level. This year, I’m honored to be heading to the Netherlands as part of Team USA for our German Shepherd Dog working world championship.

It’s a world-level championship for German Shepherd dogs for tracking, obedience and protection. Qualifying to compete is a huge accomplishment.

I wanted to share this not just as a personal milestone, but as a reminder that when you work with Wags & Wisdom, you’re working with a trainer who is deeply committed to learning, growing, and performing at the highest level possible — and bringing that experience back to help your pets and you; the owners.

Thank you all for being here and supporting our small business. It truly means a lot.

Client Spotlight: Meet Annie 🐾

Annie is a sweet Great Pyrenees mix who came to stay with us for our 3-week Wild to Well Behaved Program shortly after being adopted by her family. 💛

While Annie was an easygoing girl, her owners wanted to build a stronger foundation of manners, obedience, and reliability as she settled into her new home. One of their biggest goals was improving her recall, as Annie had a tendency to run and they wanted to be sure she could safely enjoy more freedom.

During her 3 weeks with us, Annie worked hard on basic obedience, better engagement, and building a more reliable recall, all while learning the structure and clarity needed to thrive with her new family.

Now Annie’s family has more confidence in her listening skills, a stronger foundation to continue building on, and greater peace of mind knowing she is more responsive and reliable.

Client Spotlight: Meet Maverick 🐾

Maverick is a sweet Rottweiler who came to stay with us for our 4-week Chaos to Confident Program — and while he has a big heart, he also came with a lot of size, strength, and opinions. 😅

His biggest struggles were leash walking and reactivity, which made everyday life feel stressful for his family. Walks were difficult to enjoy, and having people over could feel nerve-wracking instead of relaxing.

During his 4 weeks with us, Maverick worked hard on better leash skills, improved engagement, impulse control, and learning how to respond calmly instead of trying to take charge. He made huge progress in both his handling and his overall mindset.

Now Maverick’s family can walk him with confidence and have people over without feeling nervous, which is a huge win for everyone involved.

We are so proud of how far Maverick has come. Maverick, you crushed it! 🐾✨

🌟 Pup Spotlight 🌟

Harper is a young pittie mix who came to stay with us for our 3-week Wild to Well Behaved Program — and let’s just say… she lived up to the wild part. 😅

This sweet, loving girl had her parents feeling a little overwhelmed with her big energy, excitement, and lack of impulse control. Walks were chaotic, freedom felt out of reach, and everyday life was a lot.

After 3 weeks of training, Harper made huge progress in her manners, engagement, impulse control, and overall reliability. Now she can enjoy off-leash freedom, and her family can finally enjoy taking her out and walking her with so much more confidence.

We’re working on getting our page more active, so I’ll be starting a fun new series: spotlights!🐾

I’ll be introducing pups who are currently in training or who have completed one of our programs. The spotlights will be chosen totally at random from our client list, so you never know who might pop up next!

I’d also love to start doing posts that answer common training questions and cover topics people struggle with most. If there’s something you’d like to learn about, just comment on any post and let us know!

To start meet Sadie!

Sadie is a Vizsla who has been part of the Wags & Wisdom family since she was a puppy. She completed our signature Grow Together Puppy Program and still frequently visits us for boarding stays!

Sadie is such a sweet girl who originally came to us needing help with all of her basic obedience foundation skills. Watching her grow and continue to thrive has been such a joy, and we love getting to see her each time she comes back to visit.

Meet Penny — a sweet beagle with a nose for adventure and a little too much confidence in her own plans. 😅

When Penny came to us for our 3-week Wild to Well Behaved Program, her biggest struggle was off-leash recall. Like many scent-driven breeds, once she caught an interesting smell, it was hard to compete with the world around her.

Over the course of her stay, Penny made incredible progress learning to check in, respond reliably, and come when called — even with distractions around her. Building off-leash reliability takes time, consistency, and a strong foundation, and Penny worked hard every step of the way.

We’re so proud of how far she came during her 3 weeks with us, and even more excited for her family to enjoy more freedom, confidence, and peace of mind with her.

Way to go, Penny! 💛
