We have great news!
Starting August 10th a new doctor will be joining our practice! This means we will have more availability to see existing and NEW patients!
Here's a little bit about Dr. Katherine Brunson:
Dr. Katherine Brunson grew up with a lifelong love of animals of all kinds. From a young age, she was a competitive horseback rider, where she developed a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond and the care that goes into keeping animals healthy. That passion eventually inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Following high school, Dr. Brunson attended the University of Rochester, where she earned her Bachelors degree in biology. Proud of her family’s Scottish heritage, she chose to pursue her veterinary education in Scotland at the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS) and was inducted as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery.
Throughout her veterinary education, Dr. Brunson gained experience caring for a wide variety of companion animals while training throughout Scotland and the United Kingdom. After graduating, she returned to the United States and began practicing small-animal medicine. She has developed a special interest in preventive care, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and building lasting relationships with pet owners through education and compassionate communication. She later became the lead veterinarian at her practice in Connecticut, where she helped guide the medical team while continuing to provide compassionate, individualized care to her patients and their families.
Dr. Brunson believes that the best veterinary care comes from partnering with families to create individualized plans that help pets live longer, healthier, and happier lives. She is committed to making every visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible while ensuring owners feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Brunson enjoys spending time with her husband, Pete, and their two dogs, Eva and Finn. She is also an accomplished pet portrait artist, and several of her original works are displayed throughout the clinic. When she’s not caring for patients or drawing, she enjoys reading, travel and spending time with family including her brother, Dr. Christopher Brunson.
