The babes will be picked up next Sunday and go up to Wilsall. I will keep this around here very quiet. Just the property owner knows and asked me to do so. I don’t want nobody to just swing by and grab a c**t.

The fire from a while ago pushed many animals out of the 15.000 acres area, including a lot of horses, mainly strays.
20 of them ended up here in the bottom on my neighbors pasture.
All sudden they vanished again, but leaving behind 4 dead adult horses, and 4 yearlings/weanlings, hard to tell.
One was by himself staying with a dead black mare. Once she was removed he desperately tried to get in with the others and I helped a little.
Now there they have water and can rest. I am in touch with Prairie Song Rescue to see if the babes can be picked up and get the hell outta Dodge. I do not see a bright future for them here.

The damage is now all in the open and I will have to rebuilt the addition’s floor due to water damage. Leaking gutter and and a bill board tarp I never should have put on instead of the sheating I had on before. 🤬🤯
It is what it is. The beams are thanks god in sections I can undo and replace. Not a big deal, the joists the same, cut out and replace as needed.
I am finishing the roof over first until the end, brace it and put temporary gutter on. If still time, enough time, I might start this in sections, incl walls and roof. We’ll see!
Lots of money burned, lots of hours put in.
But between loosing John, then Two Moons and her seizures and letting go, Boots declining, then the loss of Frost, and everything being upside down for the last 3 years, I am surprised I made it that far with the roof over 👀
I am getting there, slowly but steady, and I am used to setbacks my whole life anyway, so WTF. 😂

My yearly scary movie, which I skipped last year, and I guess the year before that too: drain and flush my water heater!
Since my well turned postal on me and came back with E.coli positive (uranium not detected!) I shock chlorinated the well a week ago. Cold water smells fine again, but the hot water smells now like something from the past, I think I remember this smell from hair dye. Weird!
So I am gonna flush and then insert some chlorine into the tank and let it sit for 24hrs, the hot water pipes included and see if I can get rid of it.
Ordered a new rod as well to change next week.

Too windy and later too wet to go on with the roof. In order to not sit and wiggle my thumbs I cracked one of my lumber piles open and started the wood floor in my hay shed.
This rough sawn lumber was meant for my addition but has been cut quite out of measures. I kept it anyway, there is always something to built even on a windy rainy one.

It’s been a year since we’ve lost our old gal Frost and finally the boys are getting brave enough to go back down into the Bear pasture.
They haven’t set a hoof in there without her. She was the leader of the pack, the wise and brave one. Chased bear off of her grain, sent c***s and dogs airborne when sticking their noses into her business.
We all miss her! ❤️‍🩹 Scotty the cat probably the most, he was the first starting to dig her out since her grave is close by. He spent hours just sitting next to her food bowl looking at her, and she tolerated, maybe even liked him.
So I am glad the boys are back down there, soooo much grass not grazed in over a year now.

Slowly getting back to my roof chores. Put 2 more posts and beams up and it amazes me that even with crooked bend posts (4x4’s never come straight or stay straight 😂) a lil effort, planer and some hard core 600 lbs Dewalt clamps it all turns out straight and level at the top where I need it.
If this is art then so be it!
Now 2 posts & beams on the west side tomorrow and another 4 set trusses and purlins can get up, ready for the metal.
I am exhausted, can’t wait to finally get to the addition framing after re-doing the whole floor panels again. But Full Throttle Energy drinks keep me nicely going 😂😂

If you wanna see something go outside after sundown and hang with the gang. So I did, watched a lil Racoon TV with the Outsiders. There are 2 BabyCoons and I know mom is somewhere. So just sitting and then staring at each other 😂
