Meet Heidi, a quiet survivor finally ready for a real home.
Heidi’s story is both heartbreaking and incredibly hopeful. She and her brother were adopted as kittens, but instead of growing up in a loving home, they were left outside to live in a cardboard box on a front porch.
For the first four years of her life, Heidi was constantly bullied and attacked by her brother. Eventually, she made the brave choice to leave and found safety in a neighbor’s woodshed. She has spent the last three years there, cared for but never truly having a home of her own.
The wonderful neighbors who stepped in gave her a heated blanket, a cozy shelter, food, love, and even taught her to use a litter box. They have done everything they possibly could for her. But this year they are moving to Montana and cannot take her with them. Her original owners do not want her back, and although her rescuers love her deeply, they have not been able to bring her inside because of their own pets.
Now 7 years old, Heidi is understandably shy. Life has taught her to be careful. But once she trusts you, she loves deeply and completely. She has the loudest, most comforting purr and the sweetest little meow.
Heidi knows her name, enjoys being indoors, and is ready for a calm, patient home where she can finally feel safe and loved. Because of her past, she is fearful of other cats and would do best as the only pet in a quiet home.
After seven years of surviving, Heidi deserves more than a woodshed and a heated blanket. She deserves a family. She deserves peace. She deserves to finally belong.
If you can open your heart and home to this special girl, please reach out. Let’s make sure Heidi never feels abandoned again.
