Please help us in welcoming our two new rescues - Paisley and Bun Bun! 🤍 Paisley is a 5 year old Tennessee Fainting goat and Bun Bun is a 6 year old Nigerian Dwarf. These two girls are sweet as 🥧

REALITY CHECK WEDNESDAY…….

Sometimes, some of our rescues that we decide to keep with us at the sanctuary just are not happy here. I know, how can that be? 😆

This is Oreo, a wethered male goat that has been with us since late last spring. When he came to us we put him in containment and he was happy and healthy. Once we introduced him to the goat rescue side, he shut down. We moved him into the special needs area and he was very happy with only one other goat and 3 alpacas. This area gets more protein year around and he was loving it but getting overweight. We moved him back to the goat sanctuary and he is dealing with it but he is just not happy.

We are putting the word out looking for a special place for him. What are we looking for?

-A place that has experience in goats
-A place with 3 or less goats
-A place with enough space for goats
-A place with proper housing and fencing for goats
-Info on your farm vet that you work with that has experience in livestock
-A place that will give lots of love and doesn’t mind a goat stuck to your leg wherever you go!

If you think we are asking a lot to find the perfect home, well, we have all of the above except for the 3 or less goat part here so yes. If you expect that of us then we expect that for anyone that cares for their animals as well.
