πŸ“£πŸ’₯ Spill the dog food? Don’t just clean it up β€” turn it into a training opportunity! πŸ™Œ

A little obedience, impulse control, engagement, and hand-feeding can turn an everyday β€œoops” into a quick training session. Training doesn’t always have to be planned. Sometimes the best opportunities are the ones that happen right in front of you.

And yes… getting your hands in their food and hand-feeding is part of building that relationship too. πŸ’œ

Today's Training Tip:

Sometimes the biggest win is teaching your dog how to simply relax.

A calm dog makes better decisions, learns faster, and handles everyday life with more confidence.

Can your dog settle calmly like this? If not, let's change that. Send me a message and let's talk about how I can help! πŸ’œ

Happy 250th birthday to America! πŸ₯³πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡² Warm wishes to you and yours on this 4th of July from my pack and me. It's essential to stay hydrated and safe today, especially for our furry friends, so please keep them indoors.πŸ₯΅β›ˆοΈπŸŽ‡

πŸ’₯ **Tip of the Day:** Leash your dog and engage them in indoor activities during fireworks and even storms! Take em walking around the house and performing training exercises like sit commands, accompanied by praise and rewards of treats or toys. πŸ’₯

πŸŽ† It's time to plan! πŸŽ†

The Fourth of July is a fun holiday for many of us, but it can be one of the most stressful and dangerous times of the year for our pets.

We all have that neighbor who thinks the Fourth lasts an entire week, so be prepared for fireworks before and after July 4.

🚨 Did you know? More pets go missing on the Fourth of July than on any other day of the year. Animal shelters and animal control agencies typically see a 30–60% increase in lost pets between July 4–6.

Here are a few ways to help keep your dog safe:

✳️Give your dog plenty of exercise earlier in the day to help burn off energy.

✳️ Before fireworks begin, bring your pets indoors and keep them in a secure area, such as a crate or an interior room away from windows.

✳️ Double-check that your pet is wearing ID tags and that their microchip registration is current

✳️ Play calming music or white noise to help mask the sound of fireworks, and offer enrichment like stuffed Kongs, puzzle toys, or favorite chews.

✳️There are meds like Sileo that you can get from your vet to help keep your dog calm

🚨Remember that fireworks are genuinely frightening for MOST dogs. They may pace, pant, tremble, bark, whine, hide, try to escape, jump fences, dig under gates, or become destructive as they search for safety.

The best way to protect your pet is to plan ahead rather than react once the fireworks start. For more tips on helping fearful dogs during fireworks, check out this helpful article:
