Here are some dogs that were recently temporarily sprung from the joint: Orange Chicken, Paxton, Shiloh, and Arnold Palmer. Remember, ACAR dogs are available for outings, sleepovers, and short-term fosters. No long-term commitment is required, and dogs benefit from any amount of time out of the shelter. Recently “the best boy” Cletus got out of the shelter thanks to one of our wonderful volunteers. This volunteer favorite got glowing reviews and is ready and waiting for you to meet him.
Labor Day weekend with Cletus!

Cletus is 7 years old and truly just a huge potato. He LOVES his naps, pets, and snuggles and is one of the sweetest dogs you could ask for.

We had a busy weekend exploring Depot Park, 4th Ave Food Park, Alfred A. Ring Park, and UF campus, where he met some of my residents. He even visited a frat house and became an honorary brother!

Cletus is great in the car, sometimes so comfortable he doesn’t want to get out, and walks incredibly well on a leash. He didn’t react to other dogs, was polite and quiet everywhere we went, and didn’t bark once all weekend! He’s also potty trained and had zero accidents. He’s very comfortable being handled, including around his face and head, and absolutely loves attention.

Overall, Cletus is just such a good ole boy: calm, cuddly, sweet, and always ready for a nap. I loved spending the weekend with this giant potato, and whoever gets to call him theirs will be very lucky. 🥹❤️”

Meet some of the dogs of Alachua County Animal Resources: King is a big crybaby, but he does warm up if you bring him toys. Alto doesn't quite understand how fetch works, but he does his best. Meanwhile, Taz uses nonstandard grammar, but he has a big tongue. 🤷‍♀️ Come meet them at Alachua County Animal Resources!

We recently posted about Troy, who needed to get out of the shelter. Well, everything came up roses for him. He got his foster, was then quickly adopted, and then he moved to Utah!
