Sound on for the best playtime ever! Finn, Bolt, Lola and Merry love to party! Nothing will get in the way of senior boy Finn being in charge of playtime either! šŸŽ‰

We customized this entire space for the dogs! Itā€™s a double daybed so everyone can fit and play, thereā€™s gates to keep everyone in the safe space (no front door access) where they can romp to the 1/2+ acres 6 foot fenced in yard with their dog door as well and choose to play inside or outside!

This space is designed ENTIRELY for them! Everything is easy wipe down, blankets that they can snuggle and bury in, ramps for them to get up and down, beds for the ones who prefer to be lower.

And of course the toys! šŸ§ø We always make sure they have toys and bones and everything they need too!

Meet Lola (and her best bud Merry of course!)

Lola is a very special pup here with us!

Sheā€™s are ambassador pup, but sheā€™s SO much more than that! She is the anchor to life of the little pack here and the only girl we have in the whole pup pack!

Lola needed a lot of training when she came to us at 1 year old in order after she was returned to her rescue and we choose her - then she ended up being an amazing ambassador because her personality is MADE for people! She has been a professional therapy dog and worked in public schools!

So how does she fit in the sanctuary?! Well, when she first came to us we worked with to train her and do her rehab. Now, as an ambassador she allows us to do events and she can represent the scared or medical animals back at the sanctuary that others couldnā€™t meet and help people and connect and learn about what we do!

She also helps A LOT of people learn about the need of Chihuahuaā€™s in shelters, behavioral modification plans for them, training to help with behavior, and she helps show people that rescued is best!

She has a lot of hats she wears as or sanctuary and rehab representative! She also can work with kids, teach people about various community tools and more!

Here at home, Lola helps give Peanut Butter confidence when he needs it (he was outside chasing bugs during these) and she loves to wrestle fight play with Merry (pictured with her). She loves loves loves her snacks and chicken is her favorite! She also loves to be in tiny beds or bunked under blankets (those kitty hideaway beds are her FAVORITE!).

So, meet our little ambassador! Our little Lola who makes AASR possible at events and more! So if you see us at an event, youā€™ll get to meet Lola and she can tell you all about all her siblings at home!

(We also do bring others out but they are normally on enrichment trips and some are able to be met if you catch us out doing their rehab work but some are NOT able to be met by strangers or they prefer the comfort of home only).

No applications for Jumbo. šŸ˜­

Jumbo got SO many shares, a few messages (one from out of state) and a bunch of comments but NO one put in an application for him!

How is this boy STILL not in his forever home?! He is 6-7 years old, 10lbs, fully vetted and the most EASY going pup EVER!

Jumbo just needs a LOCAL Triangle area NC home with no other dogs. They make him feel unsafe, heā€™s a good boy and you can walk him on leash by them, or he can develop good routines around them, but they make him feel stressed and we and him to have the perfect space to thrive, not just survive.

He can do apartments, fenced yards, kitties and kids! He loves snuggles, twizzler bones and burying in blankets! The only thing he is picky about is he likes crunchy foods and not many wet foods šŸ˜…. He is such an easy to please pup.

He is the BEST little man we have ever had the pleasure of rescuing and fostering! He will go out with you and sit in your lap and doesnā€™t know a single stranger!

He is SO amazing and he has been waiting for almost TWO years for the right home! He is STILL hoping that there is forever home coming where he can be someoneā€™s special only fur baby!

Our application process for Jumbo starts with being local, filling out this form, doing a meet and greet, fostering for a few weeks to make sure it is a good fit, and then if so; we get to make the official match! šŸ„¹

There are a few ways we bring in funds; we have public donations that help us buy meds like these from Costco and we also have grants and sponsorships!

We are so grateful for our monthly and single time donors who make it possible for us to fill all these meds AND we are so grateful for our grants and sponsors like Purina Pro Plan!

In this case we had a grant filled for all of these probiotics! In addition, we are also able to get much of our specific Rx foods and other basic foods with our ProPlan sponsorship we apply for every single month.

It takes a lot of different methods monthly to make this world go around but everyone here is worth it! So it truly takes a village from $1 a month donors to giant companies and grants/sponsorships to make all of this work here for everyone!

So we wanted to take a moment to share how we do this work, show how we we make it happen, and say thank you to all those who are a part of it!

Can you tell Theaux has the ZOOMIES this morning?! šŸŒŖļøšŸ¤£

He looks like a little white Tasmanian devil! Today Theuax will start a new medication as heā€™s been titration down from an older one and doing a bridge medication in between.

Our goals are to make sure every fur kiddo has EXACTLY the right medications for their needs and sometimes that means some changes, trial and error and being able to navigate some new things too!

Send Theuax some good vibes that these meds are going to be what he needs to keep feeling good and having all the zoomies!! šŸ’•
