Most people know that we’ve been providing spay and neuter assistance to Richland County pet owners for over 17 years through our voucher program. Last year, we decided to expand our support to our neighbors in County of Lexington, SC by offering a limited run of vouchers for their residents.
We took the leap, and were thrilled by the response. All of the vouchers were claimed much faster than we anticipated! More than 1,000 vouchers were distributed in just eight months. So we took another leap and committed to another round, this time doubling the quantity to 2,000. Again, they were gone in just four months. 🤯
The need was clear, so we added another 1,500 vouchers. Now, more than 4,500 vouchers later, the demand continues to grow, as does awareness of the program. It’s a good problem to have- Lexington County pet owners clearly value this resource and understand the importance of fixing their pets. We have been more than happy to provide assistance to those who need just a little extra help making that happen.
⭐️ But now, we’re asking for your help too. To sustain this program and keep it going, it’s critical that we increase support and funding so we can continue offering vouchers in Lexington County. Our municipal shelters deserve a fighting chance at getting ahead of the wave of overpopulation that’s making their jobs so challenging right now.
If you believe in making spay and neuter services affordable and accessible, we need your help! Please consider putting your money where your heart is and helping us keep this service available to Lexington County residents. We depend on you to be part of the solution. If you’re unhappy with shelter overcrowding and space-based euthanasia and wish you could play a role in fixing it- this is it. Help fund spay and neuter for your neighbors, no matter which side of the county line they live on.
