“Do Dachshunds get along with cats?”
This is actually a question I get A LOT! ❤️

And while every dog and cat has their own personality, the answer is: YES, Dachshunds and cats absolutely can become best friends! 🥰

In fact, the two very animals that Little Weens & Velvet Beans is built around are living proof. 🐾💕 My Dachshund and my Sphynx have grown up together, and they absolutely LOVE each other — even to this day!

This photo is from when I first brought my Doxie home. 🥹 They quickly became curious about one another, learned each other’s boundaries (although the only boundary is that she cannot overly kiss Mocha) , and formed a bond that has lasted all these years. ❤️

Of course, introducing any dog and cat should be done slowly, safely, and with supervision. Dachshunds have a strong prey drive and can be very curious little hunters, while cats have their own personalities and boundaries. But with proper introductions, socialization, and respect for both animals, they can absolutely learn to coexist — and most times, they become inseparable.. ESPECIALLY SPHYNX cats! 🥰

So when you see Little Weens & Velvet Beans, you’re seeing more than just two types of animals I love. 🐾 You’re seeing the two little personalities that inspired it all. ❤️🐶🐱

And yes… they still love each other just as much today. 🥹💕 poor Mocha can’t escape Doxie’s smooches!! 💋💋💋
