When goats take selfies.

This is Annie Fannie, Whimsy’s oldest Doeling, currently bred to Jester. Annie is the only Beans daughter we’ve bred. Beans has 0 pedigree but that goat is four years old and we have never, ever had to deworm him. So yeah, if she has her mother’s udder and his parasite resistance, she’s gonna be an important part of my dairy herd.

I’ll be at the Spotsylvania Farmers Market tomorrow from 9 - 2 with some primo goat chops, freeze dried pet treats, goat milk soap, and raw goat milk for animal consumption. Stop by and ask me about my goats. I can, do, and will talk about them for hours. If you don’t like goats, we can talk about these two fools.

We have ONE package of Rosemary Garlic goat sausage left. Get it tomorrow, early, or you’ll be waiting for us to restock in October. We’re completely out of Curry, unless I find some in the back of the freezer, and frankly, I would immediately cook that for myself. That stuff is so dang good.

If you're local to the Fredericksburg area, I strongly encourage you to leave your house tomorrow, head to the Spotsylvania Farmers Market, and pick up some of this limited edition 2 Hens Coffee Roasters. I know what some of you say about pumpkin spice and the people who like it but there is nothing basic about delicious spice notes in coffee on cool mornings. We deserve this... YOU deserve this. Treat yourself.

We will have 2 seasonal coffees available this Saturday at the Spotsylvania Farmer’s Market! These will be available in September and October! Come out to the market Saturday from 8-1 and check out all of the vendors!

Goat Milk Soap's curing and I'm pulling out the holiday fabric to wrap up some of the Christmasy flavors. It makes for such a nice touch when you're gifting it. Fun fact: the fabric wrap idea is my aunt's signature soap wrapping style. One of these trays is an unscented Dog Wash Bar with calendula infused olive oil, shea butter, and colloidal oatmeal that I'm very excited about. Another is made with Lemon Eucalyptus and Lavender essential oils. Another is a Marigold & Melon fragrance oil. I don't do a lot with fragrance oils but I love this scent so sue me 🤷. I absolutely love the soap making process. Plus, if I make soap in the morning, the house smells delicious all day long.

Translated: "No matter how good you are to a goat, it will still eat your yam."

Honestly… goats will teach you more about life than most self-help books. This West African proverb is based on a solid life lesson: some things and people are just going to do what they do, no matter how good you are to them. It doesn't mean you stop being good, it just means you plant your yam a little farther from the goat pen.
