Friends and family, today I want to shine a light on one of the biggest unsung heroes I’ve ever had the honor of knowing.
This woman works with one of the amazing rescues I foster for up north, and I’ve personally walked through some of the deepest, darkest valleys of rescue work beside her. We’ve been through mud together, heartbreak together, sleepless nights together, and more p**p, p*e, vomit, and chaos than I can even begin to count. 😂
But through ALL of it… one thing about her has never changed:
She says YES when everybody else says NO.
Parvo?
“Yes.”
Mange?
“Yes.”
Parasites?
“Yes.”
Flees?
“Yes.”
Burn victims?
“Yes.”
Dogs everyone else has given up on?
ABSOLUTELY yes.
I’ve personally watched this woman save a dog whose skin was literally melting off her body from abuse and neglect. I watched her fight for that dog day and night, helping put her back together piece by piece — physically and emotionally. And not only did she save her… she gave her love, stability, safety, and a forever home where she could proudly carry her scars knowing she would NEVER be hurt again.
People see rescues online every day, but what they DON’T see are the people behind the scenes sitting on bathroom floors through the middle of the night fighting for lives.
They don’t see:
☕ the sleepless nights fueled only by coffee
💔 the tears
🐾 the exhaustion
🐾 the emergency vet runs
🐾 the skipped meals
🐾 the emotional toll
🐾 the sacrifices made by the entire family
Because it’s not just HER doing this.
Her husband supports her endlessly. He runs errands, helps with supplies, helps with transport, and stands beside her through it all. Their children help care for animals and support the household while rescue work consumes every hour of the day.
This family lives rescue work.
And despite being:
✨ a wife
✨ a mother
✨ a volunteer
✨ a foster
✨ a rescue partner
✨ and a full-time fighter for animals
…she NEVER stops.
She will answer messages at all hours of the night from complete strangers trying to save an animal. I’ve personally watched her help families she’s never even met before with no money asked for, no expectations, no recognition wanted.
She simply wants to save lives.
So today, I’m using MY platform to shine a light on HER.
The big rescues often get publicity, sponsors, and fundraising support. But these smaller rescue heroes quietly working behind the scenes deserve love too.
