Your Reptile May Need More Than Heat. 🦎

When it comes to reptile care, a basking lamp and the right temperature are important—but for many reptile species, heat alone isn't enough.

UVB lighting plays an essential role in helping many reptiles produce vitamin D3, which allows their bodies to properly absorb and use calcium. Without appropriate UVB exposure, some reptiles can develop serious health problems, including metabolic bone disease.

But here's the important part: not every reptile has the same UVB requirements. Species, enclosure setup, distance from the UVB source, bulb type, and replacement schedule all matter.

If you share your home with a bearded dragon, tortoise, iguana, chameleon, or another reptile, make sure you understand what your particular species needs.

WELCOME TO THE CREEKSIDE CRITTERS FAMILY, NOIR!

Some stories have the sweetest beginnings, and Noir’s is one of them!

Noir started out as a community cat, roaming the neighborhood in Azle until he found his way to the home of our very first Azle client. They hoped he would stick around, and guess what? He did!

They welcomed him inside, another family member eventually adopted him, and Noir’s life took a wonderful turn. Today, he’s as spoiled as a kitty can be—and he wears that bow tie like he knows he’s royalty!

From neighborhood wanderer to cherished family member, Noir found his place to call home. We’re delighted to welcome this handsome boy to the Creekside Critters Pet Sitters family!

Here’s to happy endings, loving homes, and cats who know how to accessorize.

Cat Chat: Men vs. Women

Do cats really “talk” differently to men and women? A recent study found that cats in the study meowed more than twice as often when greeting male caregivers than female caregivers. But researchers say it may have more to do with how cats communicate to get our attention than with having a preference for men or women.

It’s another fascinating reminder that our cats are constantly communicating with us—we just have to learn how to listen!

🚨 MUTT-SHOT MONDAY: MAX OF AZLE 🚨

The verdict is in...

GUILTY OF BEING SWEET!

Meet Max, our adorable Miniature Schnauzer from Azle. And believe us, he is every bit as sweet as he looks!

Max loves his visits with our team almost as much as he loves his routine. He's got his neighborhood walks down to a science, enjoys saying hello to his canine neighbors, and is always ready to alert our team when deer are nearby.

But when it comes to mealtime, Max takes his responsibilities VERY seriously.

He's not just a dog...

He's the MEAL MANAGER.

Max makes sure our team does everything correctly, because apparently when you're in charge of dinner, quality control is non-negotiable!

We just adore this little guy and look forward to every visit with him.

And yes, we try not to overuse AI around here, but how else were we going to get Max to pose for a proper Mutt-Shot with his favorite bone?

Max, you're officially free to go... but we'll be back for another visit soon!
