15 years ago I did my first Schutzhund competition with my very best friend Munch! She was such an absolute joy!

This is the best girl ever - my Munch! This was my first Schutzhund trial in 2009.
We had a great day. We had minimal mistakes in all three phases - tracking, obedience, and protection. Score 99-91-96P. I couldn’t have asked for a better day or better partner.
Munch made me look like a better trainer than I was at that time. She tried so hard to please. Munch was an absolute blast! I could take her anywhere and do anything.
I’m not that competitive by nature. I love the journey, the process and the relationships.
Dog training, for me, is about your dog living its best life. I can say she did that but she also helped me live mine.

Yep, this was me! 17 years ago nearly to the day. (Time flies!) You may wonder how we got here. Well “Jake” kept escaping the tree he was tied to and causing mayhem in the neighborhood. “Atticus,” as he needed a more regal name, was my first German Shepherd outside of the military. He was my great loyal protector for the remainder of his life. He taught me a lot about training but more about love.
This post brings me back to the beginning. I’ll be offering more training starting mid June. Please reach out for consults. I look forward to meeting you and your dogs! shepherd #2007
