Reflecting back on the past year so much accomplished including the addition of Group Classes.

I am truly grateful to everyone of our clients and supporters. You’re the life blood of my business rest assured always of my thoughts and prayers for y’all!

Say hello to 💫ODIN💫

Odin is going to be testing out a new B&T option for service dogs and depending on how I like the process and how he progresses will determine if this becomes a permanent option for Doak Dog Training. Odin has been through extensive obedience training with Elevated Canine DFW resulting in a well-rounded, well-behaved dog at home and in pet friendly places so when his owner reached out about potential service dog training via board and train, I decided to perform an evaluation first to assess. Since pet dog and service dog training are VERY different, and service dogs require a very specific temperament, it was imperative that I be critical of him but he passed beautifully! So we decided on a 3 month long B&T where I'll be working on non pet friendly public access and task training, earning him the title of Service Dog in Training upon completion (as 3 months is nowhere near long enough for 100% proofing but it will get him pretty close) and his owner can continue working with Chris to finish proofing once he's back home. I'm very excited for this and the potential of providing another low-cost option for owner trainers and their service dogs.

The next step of the place command with Pudge. Yesterday you saw Tank being introduced to it, but the laying down while on place is the last step before proofing this command/behavior. Think of it like a part 2 video. Enjoy the journey!
