Join us in congratulating SVUC’s vet assistant Maya on graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Biology! 🎓

During her time in school, Maya completed a senior project focused on Fear, Anxiety, and Stress (FAS) scoring in patients alongside Dr. Stresemann, and support of SVUC staff - research that directly benefits the care we provide every day at SVUC. We are so proud of all of her hard work and excited that she’ll be continuing with us as a full-time assistant!

Congrats, Maya! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish. 🐾

They’re the first faces you see and the voices answering your calls—but also the ones handling the chaos, helping worried clients, and keeping everything calm and organized behind the scenes.

🐾 Patient Spotlight: Paisley 🐾

You may have seen Paisley on the Allen County Sheriff’s Department page — her rescue story touched many in our community. After a T-bone car accident, deputies safely pulled her from the vehicle while her owner was transported to the hospital.
Paisley later came to SVUC when her owner noticed blood in her urine. On exam, she was bright, alert, and stable. An ultrasound revealed bladder wall thickening consistent with inflammation, likely secondary to trauma or possible infection. She was started on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication and is now resting comfortably at home.

We are so grateful to the deputies who helped keep her safe — and we’re wishing this sweet girl & her mom a smooth and speedy recovery! ❤️🐾

🐾 Pet Spotlight: Nova 🐾
Nova came into SVUC after possibly ingesting part of a 70% dark chocolate bar. She was bright and alert during her visit, with no concerning signs noted at home or in hospital.
The SVUC team safely induced vomiting, and a small amount of chocolate was discovered!
Nova received supportive care and headed home feeling well, with monitoring recommended. We are glad the SVUC team could help Nova feel better! 🐾❤️
