Tortue’s first litter is not only looking great but doing great things too! We are so happy for our friends over at Beaucerons of the Lost Woods who chose our Tortue for their premiere litter.

He has a 2nd litter that should be born this week so stay tuned for that announcement.

Twelve years ago, this remarkable Beauceron entered the world. As I celebrate her today, I would like to share about her for those who may not know her well as the younger dogs take the stage so often.

Jamais served as a medical alert and mobility service dog for her entire working life, retiring at 10½ years old. Her career was defined by reliability, soundness, and the kind of temperament that every service dog handler hopes for. Retirement has not meant inactivity however. She still assists my aging mother with mobility support around the home and helps with practical tasks like carrying in paper towels and lighter grocery bags. She remains the best puppy raiser I have ever had, consistently helping young dogs develop confidence, manners, and the ability to settle appropriately around people and in new environments.

This year marks another milestone in her story: her first great-grandchildren will be born. For anyone involved in preserving working dogs, that kind of legacy is deeply meaningful. Titles, pedigrees, and accomplishments matter but the traits that are hardest to produce—sound temperament, work ethic, and a clear head—are the qualities I hope continue through the generations that follow her.

Jamais has been many things throughout her life: a service dog, a working partner, a teacher to young dogs, and a constant presence through every stage of our program. She has earned every gray hair, honestly.

Happy 12th Birthday, Jammy Mammy. Thank you for a lifetime of work, consistency, and the example you continue to set. Here’s to many more years still yet to come. 🥂 🎉

Tako is defined first by his character: stable, confident, and rock solid, a dog who takes in the world without being rattled by it. Devoted to his people and protective of the children in his life, he remains curious, playful, and genuinely sweet; a dog who takes his work seriously without losing clarity. This is precisely the temperament we look for: stable, strong-nerved, confident dogs capable of real work and equally suited to family life.

Tako is moderate and correct in structure, agile and athletic. His clean front assembly and strong rear angulation make him a strong structural complement to Salem, whose powerful rear we hope to balance toward correct, proportional angulation in their offspring.

He is currently training in Recherche Utilitaire (RU), a French tracking discipline, alongside search and rescue work. He carries medium food drive and high prey drive (a trait we are thrilled to pair with Salem’s) combined with low handler sensitivity, allowing him to take correction in stride without shutting down.

This pairing represents a deliberate linebreeding on F’karma du Manoir des Gandines, a Ring 3 dog recognized for strong working ability, natural full grips, and compression, while remaining social, stable, and strong-nerved at home.

We anticipate puppies with high drive, stable and strong-nerved temperaments, correct and moderate structure: dogs suited for bite work, detection, herding, sport, or simply serving as an exceptional companion.

We extend our sincere thanks to Tako’s owner, Vince Mode, and his breeder, Guy Bonnefoy, for making this pairing possible. From coordinating across time zones to welcoming us with open in arms in France, this pairing would not be possible without their generosity, patience, and support.

It is always a pleasure to watch young dogs of this breed discover their instinct. Each one can be different from the next but I have yet to see one without potential. ☺️ 🐑

Our third Bug Pokemon has officially found his home! 🐝💛

Beedrill, now known as Bolero, will be joining Briana Reddick in Florida! ☀️🌴

Briana has been interested in a Beauceron for over 8 years, and we’re so honored to have found the perfect match for her. She asked for a clone of Farosh, a big loving boy with lots of disc drive, and Fat Tuesday delivered! He’ll be playing disc 🥏🤩 with his new border collie siblings and may even try sports like agility and bitework.

From the beginning, we knew Bolero was something special, and we couldn’t be more excited about this pairing. Briana is giving him a wonderful home where he’ll be loved as a cherished member of the family while embarking on many new adventures together.

We can’t wait to watch Bolero grow and see all the memories this team creates over the years. 🥰

Congratulations, Briana! Thank you for trusting us with one of our babies. We’re thrilled to have you as part of the Lost Woods Beaucerons family and look forward to following Bolero’s journey. ❤️
