for Lily! 🐶🥳🎉

Lily Harriet, formerly Chiffon, finally found her furever home yesterday after 4 long months at the shelter!

Lily was a Broward Buddies favorite, a blood donor and an overall good girl. We're so happy she has landed into a new loving home!

Her new family let us know that Lily is settling in home well, she is curious but excited and enjoys watching the birds in her backyard. Congrats to Lily and her new family, thank you for choosing to adopt a shelter pet!

🐾 Don't Judge a Pet by Their Kennel Behavior! ❤️

What you see behind kennel doors isn't always the full story.

Shelters can be overwhelming environments for cats and dogs. Fear, anxiety, stress, and overstimulation can influence how they behave, sometimes hiding the loving, playful personalities waiting to shine.

At Broward County Animal Care, we're reminding potential adopters to look beyond the kennel and give pets a chance to show who they really are.

🐶🐱 A pet's kennel behavior is just one moment, not their whole personality!

💙 Don't judge the kennel. Get to know the pet.

Educational Broward County Animal Care video opens with a black cat crouching beneath a raised kennel bed, followed by a black-and-white cat resting behind kennel bars. A brown-and-black dog walks outside on a leash. An Animal Care staff member wearing glasses and a navy shirt, speaks inside the shelter lobby. The video then shows a dog enthusiastically playing with a red toy in an outdoor exercise area, illustrating how a pet's behavior and personality may differ outside the kennel. The video concludes with Broward County Animal Care branding and County Commission information.

Jackie (A2289227) is currently in foster care, but is still searching for her furever home!

Extremely stressed while at the shelter, Jackie is now is living her best life in foster care! Here's what Jackie's foster mom has to say about her:

"Jackie is a fun-loving girl who enjoys staying busy, playing, and exploring. She’s also treat-motivated, which makes learning new things a little easier (especially when snacks are involved! 😉). The good news is that Jackie is already crate-trained and potty-trained, so she has a great head start on settling into her new home!

Jackie would thrive with a family who enjoys an active lifestyle and can give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. She has so much personality and potential, and she deserves a family who will love her, help her continue to grow, and make her part of their world."

More about Jackie:
-4 years old
-Spayed Female
-Staffordshire Terrier Mix, 50lbs
-Current on vaccines and microchipped.

Like to meet Jackie for a meet and greet? Email [email protected] for more information and to schedule a time to meet her.
