Happy First Day of Fall, everyone! 🍂
As the weather starts to cool down and the leaves begin to change, we want to remind all our pet parents about a few important seasonal tips to keep your furry family members safe and cozy:
🍄 Watch out for mushrooms: Autumn brings damp weather and wild mushrooms. Many can be toxic to pets, so keep a close eye on them during walks!
🍫 Fall treats are for humans: Keep Halloween candy, chocolate, and anything containing xylitol (like pumpkin spice baked goods) safely out of paws' reach.
🩺 Aches and pains: Cooler weather can sometimes aggravate arthritis in older pets. If you notice your dog or cat slowing down or having trouble with stairs, give us a call to discuss joint support.
Is your pet due for a seasonal checkup or wellness exam? We’d love to see you! Give us a call at 972-552-2424 or book online to schedule an appointment. 🐾

Did you know that September is National Preparedness Month? Are you and your pets prepared for an emergency? Here are some helpful tips to build your own Emergency Preparedness kits for your pets:

🐾🚨 Emergency Preparedness for Your Pets! 🚨🐾

Emergencies and severe weather can happen when we least expect them, so having a plan for your pets is just as important as having one for your family! ❤️🐶🐱

Here are some things to have ready before an emergency happens:

🍽️ Food & Water • 3–7 days of your pet’s regular food
• Extra drinking water specifically for your pets
• Portable or collapsible food and water bowls
• Don’t forget a manual can opener if you use canned food!

💊 Medications & Medical Records • A 1–2 week supply of necessary medications
• Keep medications in a waterproof container
• Copies of vaccination records and registration information
• Your veterinarian’s contact information
• A list of medications, feeding instructions, and any special care your pets need

🐕 Safety & Identification • Collars with updated ID tags
• Extra leashes and collars
• Secure carriers or kennels labeled with your contact information
• Recent photos of your pets—and a photo of you with your pets in case you become separated

🧻 Don’t Forget the Extras! • Baby wipes
• P**p bags
• Extra litter and litter boxes for cats
• Extra bedding or blankets
• Food and water bowls for each pet

💡 A great tip: Keep your emergency supplies together in one clearly labeled box or container so you can grab everything quickly when you need to evacuate.

If you live somewhere prone to hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, or severe storms, having kennels/carriers already set up and easily accessible can make a stressful situation much easier.

❤️ Prepare now, because your pets are counting on you!

Check out this little cutie after his neuter procedure with us. He had the most ADORABLE e-collar to keep his incision safe while healing.

It is VERY important to keep any type of e-collar or surgical suit on your pet after a procedure to allow the incision to heal properly and for your pet to have a good post-op surgical experience.

Is your pet spayed or neutered? If they are in need of this service.. give us a call and we can get you scheduled!!
