RALLS TX RESIDENTS—- 🐾🐶🐱🎉🎉🎉

Live Oak Animal Hospital is offering FREE spays/neuters to the Ralls Community. This is a fantastic opportunity, and you literally just have to take your pet in for the appointment. No follow-ups, multiple appointments aren’t needed. This is for Ralls residents only at the moment, Dr. Shelli Wolfe has plans to expand the offering to Crosbyton and Lorenzo in the near future. Please leave your name and number in the comments and the team at Live Oak will be in touch to schedule your appointment, or message me with your contact information and I can pass it to Live Oak. This has been an incredibly impactful project in other communities so please allow their team 1-2 weeks to be in contact. 🐾

🐾 Tip Tuesday: Protect Your Pets from Screwworms! 🐾

While screwworms are most commonly associated with livestock such as cattle, horses, sheep, and goats, they can also affect our dogs and cats. These dangerous fly larvae can be attracted to open wounds, scratches, tick bites, surgical sites, and other skin openings, where they burrow into living tissue and cause serious damage.

💡 This Week’s Biggest Tip:
Keep your pets on year-round, veterinarian-approved flea and tick prevention. Preventing bites and skin wounds is one of the best ways to reduce the risk of screwworm infestations.

Be sure to:
✅ Check your pets daily for cuts, wounds, or skin irritations.
✅ Keep wounds clean and monitor them closely.
✅ Watch for swelling, bleeding, foul odors, excessive licking, lethargy, or loss of appetite.
✅ Contact your veterinarian immediately if you suspect a screwworm infestation.

Early detection and prevention can save lives. Let’s work together to keep our furry friends safe and healthy! 🐶🐱💚

Seeing our former ARFF babies safe, loved, and thriving reminds us why every late night, transport, and rescue effort is worth it. From Texas to their happily-ever-afters, these sweet pups are proof that second chances change lives. 🐶✨

💚🐾 $5 Friday for Rusty & Rose 💚🐾

Today we are asking for your help for two sweet babies, Rusty and Rose. These precious pups were recently surrendered and are now on their way to the vet to get the care and medical attention they desperately need.

BOTHS dogs have been vomiting pieces of cloth and towels, raising serious concerns about a possible intestinal obstruction. Depending on what the veterinarian finds, we could be facing anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000 in veterinary expenses for diagnostics, treatment, and potentially surgery. 💔

Being surrendered is scary enough, but starting over while facing a medical emergency makes their journey even harder. Thankfully, they are now safe with ARFF and will receive the care they deserve.

For this week’s $5 Friday, we’re asking our amazing supporters to donate just $5 to help us cover these unexpected medical costs. While $5 may not seem like much, when our rescue family comes together, it can make a life-saving difference. ❤️

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping Rusty and Rose get the treatment they need and giving them the chance at a healthy future.

🐾 Thankful Thursday Spotlight: Chancey 🐾

This Thankful Thursday, we want to give a huge shoutout to one of ARFF’s incredible fosters, Chancey! ❤️

Over the last year, Chancey has opened her heart and home to more than 60 dogs in need. From scared strays and neglected pups to happy, healthy dogs ready for adoption, she has played a vital role in giving so many animals a second chance at life.

We are beyond grateful for her dedication, patience, and unwavering commitment to our mission. The love and nurturing care she provides help our rescue dogs learn what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.

Because of her, dozens of dogs have gone from uncertain futures to loving forever homes. 🐶❤️

Thank you, Chancey, for saying yes to so many, every mess cleaned up, every cuddle given, and every life you’ve helped save. ARFF is so lucky to have you as part of our rescue family!
