I recently completed my dog training certification through the Karen Pryor Academy, a leading program in positive reinforcement and humane training methods. Currently I offer private sessions, day training (board & train), and will hopefully be starting group classes soon.

🎉🐾 **Happy 1st Birthday, Althea!** 🐾🎉

Yesterday we wrapped up a series of training sessions with Althea and her amazing parents, and what better way to celebrate her big first birthday than a sunny training day in Old Town! ☀️

Althea’s owners were incredibly dedicated throughout the entire process, and it truly shows. Althea now has a solid recall, a reliable place cue, and amazing confidence. She has a beautiful bond with her people that has grown so strong. I am so proud of them all! 😊

Did you know cats can be trained like dogs? Here I am working with my cat Chester on a “speak” cue.

This is Beanie’s third session with me working on a mat/place behavior. This session we worked on adding a cue to the behavior since he stated to offer it reliably. Beanie is currently at the shelter waiting for the right person to adopt him that’s willing to continue the training we have started at the Oregon Coast Humane Society. Beanie will resource guard food from people. Teaching him a place behavior on cue will teach him impulse control, as well as pair a positive association with calm behavior.

Hello Everyone! My name is Nicolette aka Nicci, and I am the owner of Ripple Effect Dog Training LLC. I offer personalized dog training services rooted in empathy, science, and real-world experience. With five years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all backgrounds—including those from hoarding situations, under socialized dogs, fearful and reactive dogs, and even dogs with bite histories—I bring both skill and compassion to every training session. I recently completed my dog training certification through the Karen Pryor Academy, a leading program in positive reinforcement and humane training methods. When I am not working with client dogs, you can find me working at the Oregon Coast Humane Society. I love training with the dogs at the shelter as a way to bring enrichment into their lives, as well as help set them up for success in their new homes.
