🐾 CATTERY DOWNSIZING — RETIRING ADULTS AVAILABLE 🐾

As part of our continued commitment to improving and strengthening our breeding program, C***s & Nudes Cattery is downsizing our program. This is a very difficult decision because these cats have each played an important role in our cattery and our hearts. However, downsizing will allow us to focus more time, resources, and investment into the cats we are retaining and our long-term goals for the program.

With that being said, we will have several of our beloved adult cats available for approved retirement homes, with a few potentially available to approved breeding programs.

Please read each individual description carefully, as every cat has different needs, personalities, and placement options.

🐾 HOUDINI

2-year-old Torti Female Sphynx | Non-Registered

Houdini is a sweet girl who can take a little time to warm up to new people. Once she is comfortable with you, she becomes very affectionate and will want plenty of your attention and love.

She prefers a grain-free diet, although it is not medically required.

Retirement placement: Pet home.

🐾 ONYX

2–3-year-old Gray Male Sphynx | Neutered | Non-Registered

Onyx is currently a foster in my care. Unfortunately, I do not have complete information regarding his previous background.

He has been a very sweet boy and has done well around other cats, children, and people. He is currently a little underweight, so we are working diligently on helping him reach a healthy weight.

Onyx will not be available for adoption until he has been medically cleared and is considered healthy enough for placement.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home.

🐾 MR. BEAN

2-year-old Male Sphynx | Non-Registered

We are not 100% certain that Mr. Bean will be retiring, but we wanted to explore what placement opportunities may be available for him.

Mr. Bean is a proven stud and is a very sweet, vocal boy. He is a DBE/ODD-eye carrier.

We would consider placing him with another approved cattery/breeding program with the appropriate home and breeding standards.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home or approved cattery.

4-year-old Smoke Female Maine C**n | TICA Registered

Silver is a beautiful, independent girl. She enjoys attention and being petted but is also perfectly happy doing her own thing.

Silver developed a hernia following a previous C-section. Her hernia will be repaired at the time of her spay before she leaves our program.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home.

6-year-old Smoke Male Maine C**n | TICA Registered

This one is especially difficult for me. ❤️

Drogon is one of the sweetest boys and absolutely loves attention and affection. He developed cauliflower ears while at a previous cattery, but this does not take away from his wonderful personality.

His retirement is not due to temperament or a lack of love for him. It is simply time for him to retire from breeding due to his age, and I want him to have the opportunity to spend the rest of his life being spoiled and loved as someone’s cherished companion.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home.

3-year-old Bi-Color Female Maine C**n | Spayed | TICA Registered

Plia is one I am personally having a very difficult time letting go of. I may ultimately decide to keep her as a personal pet, but I wanted to see what wonderful homes may be available for her before making that decision.

She is an extremely sweet, large girl who loves to talk when she sees her humans. She has an incredible personality and is very special to us.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home.

🐾 LOKI

1-year-old Gray Male Maine C**n | Registration Pending

Loki is a very sweet and loving boy. He could potentially continue as a stud in another breeding program, but any breeding placement would be strictly limited to an approved and carefully evaluated cattery.

He has butted heads with one of our other males. However, I have not experienced issues between Loki and our other cats outside of that particular male. Some male-to-male conflict can occur in a breeding environment, particularly between intact males.

Retirement placement: Approved pet home or approved breeding program.

🩺 HEALTH & PLACEMENT INFORMATION

All of our retiring adults:

✔️ Are accustomed to living with other cats, dogs, and children
✔️ Have current HCM screenings and have tested negative
✔️ Have been tested for FHV/FCV/FeLV and have tested negative
✔️ Are up to date on vaccinations
✔️ Any cat that is not already altered will be spayed/neutered before leaving our program, unless otherwise specifically discussed for an approved breeding placement

Please understand that each cat will be placed based on personality, lifestyle, household environment, and individual needs. Our priority is not simply finding a home — it is finding the right home.

💰 REHOMING FEES

Rehoming fees will vary based on the individual cat, breed, age, registration status, and other factors.

Please understand that these are established breeds that require appropriate nutrition, veterinary care, grooming, and ongoing financial commitment. Interested homes should be prepared for the responsibility and costs associated with owning these breeds.

🐾 A New Chapter for Our Cattery 🐾

After a lot of thought, planning, and consideration, we’ve made the decision to downsize our cattery.

This decision isn’t because we are stepping away from breeding — quite the opposite. We’re making this change because we want to create a more stable, manageable, and sustainable breeding program for both ourselves and our cats.

As our cattery has grown, so have the time, expenses, responsibilities, and daily care that come with maintaining a larger program. We believe that sometimes growing doesn’t mean having more — sometimes it means refining what you have and doing it better. ❤️

Going forward, our program will consist of:

🐱 3 breeding females
🐾 1 breeding male per breed

Keeping our program smaller will allow us to devote more individual time, attention, care, testing, and resources to each cat. It will also allow us to be more intentional about our pairings and future litters rather than feeling the pressure that can come with maintaining a larger breeding system.

Our goal has always been to produce healthy, well-socialized, quality kittens while putting the well-being of our adult cats first. Downsizing will help us continue doing that in a way that is more sustainable for our family and our cattery.

This is not an ending — it’s a new chapter. ❤️

Sometimes the best way to move forward is to simplify, refocus, and build a stronger foundation.

With that being said, we will have several adult cats retiring from our breeding program. 🐾❤️ A list will be available soon for anyone who may be interested in adopting one of our sweet babies and giving them a loving home where they can be spoiled as someone’s beloved pet.

These cats have been a very important part of our cattery and our journey, so finding the right homes for them is extremely important to us. We want each one to go somewhere where they will be loved, cherished, and treated like family. ❤️

It’s been such a long and emotional 24 hours. ❤️

Once again, I find myself questioning everything and feeling like I’ve failed in some way. But more than anything, I am incredibly thankful that everything happened quickly, smoothly, and that Pila is home safely.

Yesterday, two friends and I made the trip to Mexico with Pila, who was 57 days pregnant. Before we even left, Pila experienced a vaginal prolapse. At that point, we had an incredibly difficult decision to make.

The kittens still needed more time to develop, but allowing the pregnancy to continue presented a serious risk to Pila’s health and safety. After discussing the options, we made the decision to proceed with an emergency C-section.

What we discovered during surgery made that decision even more important. Pila’s uterus had twisted and had become purple, indicating that the blood supply had been compromised. Because of the condition of the uterus, the only safe option was to perform an emergency spay at the same time.

That was an incredibly hard decision to make. As a breeder, you hope and pray that every pregnancy ends with a healthy mama and healthy babies. Having to choose between what you desperately want and what is safest for your girl is one of the hardest parts of this responsibility.

Six beautiful babies were delivered. The veterinary team immediately took lifesaving measures for each and every kitten. Unfortunately, at 57 days, they were simply too premature, and despite everyone’s best efforts, they were only able to do so much.

Pila, thankfully, did wonderfully through surgery and recovery. She spent the night at the veterinary clinic so she could be monitored and cared for, and we were then able to make the trip safely back home to the States.

This has been another incredibly trying experience, especially coming only weeks after everything we went through with Anna. Sometimes the emotional weight of breeding is difficult to put into words.

And this is one of the things I wish more people understood about ethical breeding.

People often question the price of responsibly bred kittens or assume breeders are “making a killing” from breeding cats. The reality is very different.

Ethical breeding involves extensive veterinary care, health testing, genetic testing, prenatal care, emergency funds, specialized nutrition, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, and sometimes heartbreaking losses. There are expenses that never make it into the price of a kitten—and there are emotional costs that can’t be measured in dollars at all.

No responsible breeder goes into a pregnancy assuming everything will go perfectly. We prepare for the possibility that something could go wrong, but no amount of preparation makes these situations easy.

Yesterday was a reminder that breeding is not simply about producing kittens. It is about accepting responsibility for the lives of the mother and babies, making difficult decisions when necessary, and putting their welfare before our own hopes or expectations.

My heart is still heavy for the six babies we lost, but I am incredibly grateful that we were able to get Pila the care she needed when she needed it.

And I am beyond thankful for the two friends who made this trip with me. Thank you for being there through the fear, the difficult decisions, the waiting, and everything in between. Having you there made an incredibly difficult situation a little easier—and somehow we even managed to squeeze in some much-needed girls’ time under the craziest circumstances. ❤️

Breeding isn’t always beautiful kittens and happy announcements.

Sometimes it’s emergency surgery.
Sometimes it’s impossible decisions.
Sometimes it’s heartbreak.
And sometimes, thankfully, it’s bringing your girl home safely.

Retiring Cats!!!!

Silver- Maine c**n 4yo, she’s a sweet girl but likes her independence, she’s developed a hernia from a previous c-section that will be repaired with her spay.

Houdini-Sphynx 3yo, sweet and loves to cuddle.

Drogon-Maine c**n 6 yo, he developed cauliflower ear at a previous cattery but it doesn’t bother him, he’s a lover and so sweet

All cats are UTD on current vaccines, HCM scanned, no health concerns, been around dog, other cats, kids. Will be fixed before leaving.

Rehoming fee for the breed, will apply!
