Too Close to call!!
Maple has gone through something no dog owner wants to have. Pyometra.π€’π€π©Έπ©Έπ§ͺ
If your dog still has a uterus, its a possibility. But thankfully very rare.
Basically a infection of the uterus triggered by her heat cycle. Most vets protocol is removing uterus and then treat the infection. In some cases that can not be avoidedβ¦
But God got us in touch with a repo-vet that has a treatment plan for cases just like Maple.
Maple was showing signs of being pregnant and we were looking forward to seeing the vet to confirm a litter. Little did we know something much more dangerous was festering causing a false pregnancy. With some gross discharge and lack of wanting to eat so suddenly, We went to the ER.
It was very hard to see and watch. Maple had become very week quickly and very uncomfortable. At times I was shaken trying to keep my mind on the next step and not on the thought of loosing her.
Now 2 weeks later Maple is leaving the vet with a clean bill of health! and NO SURGERY!
We plan on working with her new vet for her next litter. It is super important to get her pregnant, to protect her from the infection coming up again.
I am very greatful for the blessings God showed us through this. I dont know why, but Maybe is has something to do with Joshua wanting to be a vet. π¬π©Ί
Everyone loves having her, and were so impressed by her good behavior through a hard time. I can never replace the memories this beautiful dog has given me. I am so thankful that She is still with us!!
