πŸ‘‘ DEAREST GENTLE READER πŸ‘‘

The Bridgerton Litter has officially made their society debut and these five little ladies are now accepting adoption applications. πŸ’œ

Meet Daphne, Francesca, Hyacinth, Penelope and Eloise.

These girls were born on July 1st and are Chihuahua/Terrier mixes. They currently weigh around 5 pounds each and their mama, Roxy, is about 20 pounds.

Because we do not know what dad was, we cannot guarantee what their adult size will be. They may end up small to medium sized but with mixed breed puppies there can always be surprises.

They are sweet, silly and curious little puppies who have been growing up together in foster care and are finally ready to begin looking for their forever families.

Each girl has her own personality and we’ll be introducing them individually but for now we want to know...

Which Bridgerton sister already has your heart? πŸ‘€πŸ‘‘

🚨 ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: 🚨

All animals currently living in the home MUST BE:

β€’ Spayed or neutered
β€’ Up to date on vaccines including Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella
β€’ Up to date on a f***l test
β€’ Up to date on a yearly Heartworm Test
β€’ On veterinarian-prescribed Heartworm Prevention year round

πŸ“ ADOPTION INFORMATION

The Bridgerton Litter is available for adoption through Help Us, Help Them Dog Rescue based in Ferndale, Michigan.

Adoption Fee: $400

There is also a $100 spay/neuter security deposit that will be reimbursed within 45 days after proof of spay/neuter is provided.

Their adoption fee includes:

β€’ 1st round of DHPP
β€’ Bordetella
β€’ Lepto
β€’ Deworming
β€’ Microchip
β€’ Negative F***l Test

The puppies are currently on flea and tick prevention as well as Heartworm Prevention.

They will be adopted on a mandatory spay/neuter contract and MUST BE FIXED on or before their 6 month birthday.

Before an adoption can be finalized, the prospective adopter must already have a spay/neuter appointment scheduled with their veterinarian.

Failure to have the puppy spayed or neutered by the required deadline will be handled according to the terms of the signed adoption contract including the rescue’s contractual right to reclaim the puppy.

The puppies are currently being fostered within the Metro Detroit area.

We WILL NOT adopt two puppies from the same litter into the same home.

🚨 IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 🚨

Please DO NOT email our rescue asking whether the puppies are still available.

If this post is still up, we are still accepting applications for the litter.

We kindly ask that questions be saved for the phone interview.

Please allow up to 2 weeks for our rescue to process your application and contact you after submission.

When completing the application, please list the puppies in your order of preference for adoption.

Once a puppy is officially pending adoption, we will post that update on our page.

🚨 METRO DETROIT PET PARENTS, PLEASE CHECK YOUR FENCES AND GATES BEFORE LETTING YOUR DOGS OUT TODAY. 🚨

Severe thunderstorms are moving through Southeast Michigan with dangerous winds capable of damaging fences, gates, trees and other structures.

Even if your yard was completely secure yesterday, do not assume it still is today.

Before opening that back door, take a few minutes and physically walk your fence line. Check every gate, latch, fence panel and corner of the yard. Look for loose boards, shifted panels, fallen branches or any new opening your dog could squeeze through.

High winds can weaken or move a fence without it being obvious from inside the house.

PLEASE do not just open the door and let your dogs run out without checking first.

It takes seconds for a dog to get through a damaged fence or unsecured gate and once they are loose during a storm, they can become frightened, disoriented and extremely difficult to find.

Take the extra few minutes. Check the yard. Secure the gates. Keep your pets safe. ❀️🐾

Please share so other pet parents in Metro Detroit see this today.

08/31/2026

One year later and we’re happy to report that Charlie has learned absolutely NOTHING about respecting her foster dad’s privacy. πŸ˜‚

She still has no clue what boundaries are. Better yet, she has absolutely no idea what personal time or personal space means.

Apparently, if you’ve been blessed with Charlie as your foster child, everything you do is now a group activity. Going to the bathroom? Charlie would like to attend. Taking a shower? She’ll supervise. Trying to leave the house without her? Absolutely the f**k not. πŸ˜‚

The other day her foster dad had the AUDACITY to walk out the front door without her and within seconds Charlie was upstairs in the bedroom window having a full blown emotional crisis.

And when we say she was climbing the window, we mean CLIMBING THE WINDOW.

Back feet on the windowsill. Front paws against the glass. Big goofy smile on her face. Then she started LICKING THE WINDOW like, β€œDAD!!! PLEASE!!! I CAN COME TOO!!! I’LL BE A GOOD GIRL!!! I PROMISE!!!” πŸ˜‚

Maybe it’s FOMO because she’s convinced every time he leaves the house he’s going on the greatest adventure of his life.

Or possibly getting chicken nuggets without his little nugget. πŸ˜‚

Maybe it’s a little separation anxiety.

Or maybe Charlie is just Charlie and genuinely cannot comprehend why her foster dad would ever want to do anything that doesn’t involve her.

Whether it’s going for a walk, jumping on a conference call or setting a foster up with food and supplies, let’s just say Charlie will ALWAYS be right there to make sure there’s no funny business going on.

Even if that means breaking out of her brand new crate.

Or getting a little running start and clearing an 8 foot privacy fence.

Let’s just say... nothing. Literally NOTHING will stop this girl from joining the party. 🀣

As funny as she is, there’s still a heartbreaking part to all of this.

How in the world are we coming up on THREE YEARS with this girl?

Charlie has come so incredibly far since she first came into our rescue. She has grown, learned, gained confidence and become such a loving, hilarious, ridiculous little character. She really is such a good girl.

She’s great with other dogs, kids and even cats.

Yet somehow, almost three years later, she is still waiting for someone to finally choose her.

Charlie is STILL up for adoption. ❀️

And apparently she’s STILL trying to figure out where her foster dad’s tail went. 🀣

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1E79ZKadjk/

Oh Charlie 🀣 What are we going to do with you?
If you’re looking for a pup who will keep you laughing and turn every day into fun and games, Charlie is definitely your girl! πŸ’•πŸΎ She’s ready to find her forever familyβ€”could it be you?

🚨 URGENT CAT RESCUE/FOSTER NEEDED β€’ DETROIT/FERNDALE 🚨

This handsome little guy desperately needs someone to step up for him ASAP.

He has been outside for approximately two weeks and as far as we can determine, he does not have a home, siblings or anyone looking for him. He appears to be around 12 to 16 weeks old. He is understandably scared and will not come to the finder yet, but we are more than willing to trap him and get him somewhere safe.

He is honestly the quirkiest, dorkiest little guy. Surprisingly, he gets along great with the feral cats in the area and they have been allowing him to hang around with them. But more often than not, we find him completely alone.

He is being fed and watched over right now, but this is NOT a long term solution. He is still young and we desperately want to get him indoors, socialized and given the opportunity to become someone’s spoiled house cat instead of growing up outside and becoming completely feral.

We have contacted multiple cat rescues and unfortunately everyone we have reached so far is full.

SO HERE IS WHAT WE NEED: A FOSTER HOME.

If someone is willing to step up and foster this little guy, I will find a cat rescue willing to back him. That means getting him into an established cat rescue that can make sure he is fixed, fully vetted and eventually adopted into the right home.

But please understand that fostering is a commitment. If you volunteer to foster him and we secure a rescue to back him, you will be committing to fostering him until he is fully vetted and adopted. We cannot bring him into our home or move him into one of our dog foster homes if you decide you no longer want to foster.

Our rescue will not be bringing in any more cats. We are a dog rescue and we have stretched ourselves as far as we possibly can. I still have three kittens in my home from the last litter I stepped up to save and I will not mix litters or put any of them at risk.

In less than a year, our dog rescue has helped get 60 cats spayed and neutered in addition to stepping up for multiple cats and kittens when there was nowhere else for them to go. We have done everything we possibly can to help with the cat crisis (even with our director being allergic) while still trying to run a dog rescue.

We just need ONE person willing to open up their home to this little guy.

And please, do not suggest TNR for this kitten. We are specifically looking for a foster or rescue placement where he can be brought indoors, socialized, vetted and eventually adopted.

If you can foster him, please message us ASAP. We will trap him and I will work on finding a cat rescue to back him.

If you cannot foster, PLEASE SHARE. Somewhere out there is one person who can make room for this little guy. ❀️

08/14/2026

Today broke me πŸ’”

If you've followed Help Us Help Them Dog Rescue for any amount of time, you know we will do just about anything we can to help people keep their pets.

Sometimes people fall on hard times. Sometimes they need food. Sometimes they need a crate or flea meds or just a little help getting through the month. If we have it, we help. That's what we do.

What a lot of people don't realize is we are a DOG rescue. We are not a cat rescue. We really don't even get cat donations. But the stray cat problem is so bad that we've been trying to do our part anyway.

In the last 9 months alone, we've helped get 65 stray cats fixed and vetted. I'm currently trying to find placement for 4 kittens while also taking care of 12 ferals. I'm allergic to cats. Like actually allergic πŸ˜‚ but here we are because somebody has to help them.

For about the last 9 months I've also been helping the gentleman in this video and his animals.

And that's what makes me so upset about what happened today.

Over the last 9 months I've gotten to know him. I've gotten to know his animals. I care about his animals. I care about whether they're fed and comfortable and taken care of. The whole point wasn't just handing him stuff. It was helping him and educating him so he could be the best pet parent possible with what he has.

For his two dogs we've given him crates, harnesses, collars, leashes, dog beds, blankets, fresh towels, food, treats, flea meds, heartworm prevention and probably a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting.

We've helped with his cats too. Cat food, treats, flea meds, fresh towels and whatever else we've been able to come up with.

His water has been shut off. I've filled tubs of water for him so he could do laundry. I've offered to wash his clothes.

I have NEVER had a problem helping him.

All he ever had to do was ask.

That's literally it.

Ask.

Today he came over because he needed fresh water for himself and his animals.

I've asked him before not to come over and knock on my door during my work hours because I work from home and when somebody knocks, every dog in this house goes absolutely insane.

I'm in the middle of a conference call around 10:30 this morning and somebody knocks.

Dogs lose their minds.

I pull up my cameras while I'm literally still on my conference call and there he is.

And then I watch him start looking through boxes sitting on my porch.

Then I watched him take a six pack of cat flea meds.

Didn't ask.

Didn't text me.

Didn't say hey, can I have these?

Just took them.

And THAT is why I snapped.

It wasn't about $40 worth of flea meds.

It wasn't about him paying me back either. You'll hear that in the video. He offered to pay for them after I confronted him.

That wasn't the point.

After everything we've done for you and your animals for the last 9 months, why wouldn't you just ASK me?

You didn't have to take anything from me.

You never had to.

If I had it and could help you, I did.

And today I had to tell someone I've spent 9 months helping, someone whose animals I've grown to love and care about, that I'm done.

Don't come to my house anymore. Don't knock on my door. I can't help you anymore.

And that actually breaks my heart.

But at some point enough is enough.

I also want people who receive help from rescues to understand something because I don't think most people have any idea what goes into getting the stuff we're able to give away.

When we hand somebody a bag of dog food, it might take us 60 seconds to hand it to them.

What you don't see is everything it took to GET that bag of food.

Maybe a donor bought it.

Maybe someone saw us begging for food donations in a local Facebook group.

Maybe it came off our Amazon wishlist.

Maybe one of us found a clearance sale and bought everything we could afford.

Maybe one of our volunteers drove somewhere to pick it up.

Maybe I paid for it myself because somebody needed help and we didn't have any left.

Crates, food, flea meds, collars, blankets, towels, treats... none of this stuff just magically appears.

Someone donated it.

Someone paid for it.

Someone fundraised for it.

Someone drove to get it.

Someone spent their Saturday walking into businesses asking for donations.

Someone spent hours putting together a fundraiser.

Someone gave up their time or their own money so we could turn around and help someone else.

And a LOT of the time, we're paying for things out of our own pockets too.

We're trying to pay vet bills for 40+ animals while emergency cases keep coming in and we're still trying to help people in our community who can't afford food or basic supplies for their own pets.

We're stretched thin too.

VERY thin.

Right now we're busting our asses getting ready for our Dogs Gone Wild Online Auction that kicks off THIS WEEKEND and runs through the end of the month.

We're trying to get baskets together. We're asking businesses for donations. We're asking supporters to make baskets. We're clearance shopping. We're picking things up. We're organizing everything. We're fundraising constantly.

And then Facebook shows our posts to a fraction of the people who actually follow us πŸ™ƒ

So we work even harder.

That is what happens behind the scenes before somebody gets that 60 second handoff of a bag of food.

Every single thing a rescue gives you came from the generosity, hard work, time or money of somebody else.

Please remember that.

We LOVE being able to help people. Seriously. We wouldn't do it if we didn't.

But please don't mistake kindness for an unlimited supply of free stuff.

And definitely don't mistake kindness for permission to take something that wasn't offered to you.

Just ask.

That's all I've ever asked.

I'm not posting this video so anyone goes after this gentleman, so please don't. I'm posting it because this is the reality of rescue that people don't always get to see.

Sometimes the animals aren't what break you.

Sometimes it's everything else.

If you want to help us keep doing what we're doing, our Dogs Gone Wild Online Auction starts this weekend and runs through the end of the month that will be held in the Help Us Help Them Dog Rescue Fundraising Group. We still need auction baskets and new items for baskets!

You can also help us directly:

Venmo:

PayPal: [email protected]

Or SHARE this post and our upcoming auction posts. Seriously. Sharing costs nothing and with the way Facebook limits our reach, it helps more than people realize.

And to our donors, fosters, volunteers, businesses and every single person who has bought something, donated something, made a basket, shared a post or sent us $5 when that was what you could afford...

THANK YOU.

I know exactly how much work and love goes into every single thing you give us.

And I will never take that for granted. ❀️🐾

Remember Briar Rose? Our sweet little mama who was found outside with a vaginal prolapse after recently giving birth? Well, look at her now. πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

We are SO thankful that Briar’s surgery went well. Once she was recovered and ready for her next chapter, we transferred her over to our good friends at Animal House of South East Michigan so they could continue her journey and give this girl the second chance she truly deserves.

And now she’s ready for her forever home. ❀️

If you’re looking for the perfect cat, I’m telling you, this girl is IT. She’s currently at the PetSmart location on Woodward and you can go meet her!

Just beware... you better show up with some Delectables squeeze treats and prepare yourself for LOTS of hugs. πŸ˜‚ This girl literally wraps her little paws around your neck, squeezes you and pulls you in like she never wants to let go.

I’m allergic to cats and even I couldn’t get enough of her. πŸ˜‚ She just wanted to be held and loved. The amount of love this tiny girl has to give is absolutely insane. After everything she went through, she is still one of the sweetest, most affectionate little souls you could ever meet.

We also wanted to share something for everyone who followed Briar’s story and asked how they could help. We unfortunately didn’t receive any donations toward Briar’s care from our original post, but several people mentioned wanting to donate directly to the rescue that took her in.

So if you were one of those people, we would absolutely LOVE if you would consider making a donation to Animal House of South East Michigan. They stepped up for Briar when she needed somewhere to go and gave her the second chance she truly deserved. We’ll include their donation link below. ❀️

And one more HUGE thank you to Jessica, Erin and Emily for everything you did to help Briar Rose. Our entire rescue family sincerely cannot thank you enough.

Now somebody please go meet this girl and give her the forever home she’s been waiting for. ❀️

🐾 LADIES & GENTLEMEN... WE HAVE A NEW GIRL TO INTRODUCE! 🐾

Everyone meet Prescott, aka Scottie! πŸ’•πŸΎ

Scottie is a 4 year old Golden Retriever who recently joined the Help Us Help Them Dog Rescue family after being owner surrendered due to moving circumstances as well as some pretty severe skin issues.

And let us tell you... this girl is literally the SWEETEST. πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

She's your typical goofy, happy Golden with that typical Golden energy we seriously can't get enough of. She absolutely LOVES her toys, loves to play and pretty much just wants to be wherever her people are. This girl absolutely craves human companionship.

And she definitely lives up to the name Scottie because this girl is a total tomboy. πŸ˜‚β€οΈ

When Scottie came into rescue, we quickly realized she was dealing with severe flea dermatitis. Underneath her coat she has quite a bit of scabbing, especially on her belly, under her armpits and along her back.

First order of business was a much needed flea bath followed by a skin conditioning treatment and getting her started on antibiotics to help everything heal up.

Yesterday was only her SECOND full day in rescue and let us tell you, this girl already feels SO much better. ❀️ She's definitely got some healing to do over the next few weeks, but we're hopeful she'll be feeling like a brand new girl before we know it.

Now before our inbox gets flooded... πŸ˜‚

Please do not message the rescue's page asking when she'll be available for adoption.

Since Scottie is currently in a foster home with the potential to adopt, all of our foster families will always have the first option to adopt the dog currently in their care. That being said, we will NOT be accepting applications for Scottie at this time.

If she does become available for adoption, we will post her complete bio along with the adoption application and information on how to apply for her. ❀️

For now, we just wanted to officially introduce this beautiful girl and welcome her to the Help Us Help Them Dog Rescue pack. 🐾❀️

If you'd like to help us help Scottie and would like to donate towards her medical care, please feel free to donate through Venmo or PayPal. Every little bit helps us continue doing what we do for dogs like Scottie. ❀️
