Welcome Rowdy!

Rowdy came today to learn some basic obedience and manners. He’s such a sweet golden boy 😁

Reggie is a lot of fun, here he is showing off his heeling skills. Heel is a great command to have when in public when you need control of your dog or just don’t want them wandering off to say hi to everyone. Heel is done on the left side and the dog should be square to you (their shoulder to your leg). They should walk at your pace and sit when you stop. Eye contact is not required but it is rewarded!

Love slip leashes or martingale colors. Dogs can back out of harnesses as well, and they aren’t great for training because you don’t have any control. Harnesses are a great tole for different situations though!

I find it pretty cool that I can do a formal training session with Roscoe after not working with him in a while and him still being a little superstar. I naturally practice his training in real life events but there’s a difference between actually putting the time in for a training session. Once your dog is fully trained, you still have to keep up the practice to maintain what they have learned.

Although Roscoe’s obedience is great, his specialty is his amazing nose. Roscoe absolutely loves tracking (human scent) and has been trained to detect narcotics.

Meet Milo, Milo is a young chihuahua mix weighing about 10 pounds. I am fostering him through A new leash on life animal rescue. He’s such a sweetheart and a stage 5 clinger. He’s doing good with my dogs and we are working on potty training and crate training. I do believe he is 90% potty trained and he will go potty outside no problem. He will need a consistent schedule and close supervision at first to prevent accidents. He is such a sweetheart and my other small dog loves him. He is the type of dog that will bond to his family and doesn’t enjoy being away from them. He does good on a leash.
