Tear Jerker Alert:
Stanley has been a part of the Smart K9 family for over 6 years, attending 424 days of daycare in that time following his board and train program back in 2020.
Smart K9 will be celebrating our 8th year in business this year, and Stanley still holds the title of most difficult dog we have ever kennel trained and the strongest (he’s a perfect angel now but BOY the first two weeks of his training program I remember very vividly haha)!
Due to his age and medical needs, we have made the decision to transition his daycare reservations to “drop in and say hi” visits.
At Smart K9, we are strong advocates for structured daycare. It provides dogs with essential socialization, mental stimulation, and physical exercise.
However, there comes a time when continuing daycare is no longer in a dog’s best interest. These are several reasons for this including age, physical, or mental health.
We believe it is vital to work closely with staff, owners, and veterinarians to recognize when it is time for a pup to transition to staying at home / in home care.
As one of our “OG” staples, it is bittersweet to see his daycare journey come to an end, but we know this is what is best for him and his well being.
Attached are photos spanning from his first day of training in 2020 to his final day of daycare. Stanley has helped many other dogs on their training and rehabilitation journeys, and we cannot thank him enough for his contributions.
Stanley has officially retired from his daycare duties. Thank you for an incredible six years, buddy! 🥲❤️
