Emergency recall could save your dog's life.
Most people only teach one recall cue.
I teach two.
One is for everyday situations. The other is reserved for emergencies, like when a dog is running toward a road, another dog, or any dangerous situation.
In this video, I throw a frisbee, then use my emergency cue. Even though she's fully committed to chasing it, she immediately stops and turns back.
Why use a separate cue?
Because it stays incredibly valuable. It's never used casually, never repeated over and over, and it's always followed by the best reward your dog can imagine.
Hopefully you'll never need it.
But if you do, you'll be glad you taught it. 🐶
