A magnificent 5-year-old Malamute who's ready to find a foster to adopt home!

This sweet girl is an absolute gem, fully house-trained and kennel-trained, and she'll melt your heart with her adorable malamute grumbles. River thrives on activity and is on the hunt for an active soul who loves to play as much as she does.

She absolutely adores a good romp and is always up for giant Malamute hugs. Daily running is a must for River – she has boundless energy and would excel at bikejoring or skijoring with a little training. River absolutely loves to run and does run well next to an ATV! She needs daily runs to place her energy to be successful!

🌼 Meet Alpha 🌼

Alpha has reached that wonderful stage of life where she knows exactly what she likes: sunny spots, leisurely walks, cozy couches, and good company.

This sweet senior girl is searching for a home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love and comfort. She's a gentle soul who enjoys life's simple pleasures and isn't asking for much—just a soft place to land and someone to share it with.

Alpha does wonderfully around other dogs, especially those who share her mellow outlook on life. She attends our adoption events and is always a perfect lady, often offering a quick sniff before going back to minding her own business. While she enjoys canine company, she's much more interested in relaxing than playing.

Her ideal day includes sunbathing in the yard, observing the world around her, enjoying a stroll through the neighborhood, and then claiming her favorite spot for a well-earned nap.

Alpha is friendly with new people and enjoys meeting both adults and children. Because she's a senior and appreciates her personal space, she'd do best in a home where young children aren't climbing on or roughhousing with her.

Don't let her age fool you—Alpha still loves her walks and enjoys getting out to explore. She's simply looking for a family that matches her pace and appreciates all the wonderful things that come with adopting a senior dog.

💕 Meet Harper Jean 💕

Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves. Harper Jean wears hers everywhere she goes.

This sweet girl is what the kids would call a *certified lover girl*. Her favorite thing in the world is people. She wants to be close, soak up affection, and remind everyone she meets just how special they are. While she loves everyone, she has a particular soft spot for women and tends to form strong bonds with them quickly.

Harper Jean is a mellow, affectionate companion who would thrive in a calm home where she can finally relax and enjoy being loved.

Because of a history of being attacked by other dogs multiple times, Harper can sometimes become uncomfortable around unfamiliar dogs and may react out of fear if she feels her boundaries are being ignored. What she needs most is someone who understands her past and is willing to advocate for her.

The beautiful thing about Harper is that when her boundaries are respected, she does wonderfully. She attends our rescue events regularly and has had no issues around other dogs because introductions are managed thoughtfully and interactions are kept calm and respectful.

For this reason, Harper would do best as an only dog, or in a home with someone experienced and committed to slow introductions and proper management. She doesn't need dog friends to be happy—she just needs people who understand that trust is earned.

🐱 Cats? No problem! Harper has shown very little interest in cats and has done well around them, making her a great candidate for a cat-friendly home.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will greet you like you're the best thing that's ever happened to her, Harper Jean may be exactly who you've been waiting for.

🖤 Meet Leo 🖤

If your idea of the perfect companion is a giant, lovable couch potato, Leo may be your guy.

This handsome senior is all about the simple things in life: a comfy place to nap, a good meal, and spending time with his people. While he's certainly a big boy, his heart is even bigger.

Leo gets along well with kids, dogs, and cats. He especially enjoys calm companions who understand that his days of roughhousing are behind him. His current canine roommate is an older pug, and while Leo tolerates the occasional burst of energy, he'd much rather spend his time relaxing than playing.

Because he's a little older and more tender these days, Leo prefers affection on his terms. He's happy to accept all the love and cuddles you have to offer, but appreciates having his personal space respected when he's ready for a nap.

Leo does have thyroid issues, but it's very easy to manage. He takes one pill daily hidden in his food and happily eats it without complaint. His medication costs approximately $22 every three months, making his ongoing care simple and affordable.

Leo also has a history of seizures in highly stimulating, high-energy environments. After a full veterinary workup and lab testing, he received a clean bill of health. To help him be successful, we simply avoid overwhelming situations and do not bring him to busy rescue events. Leo thrives in a calm, predictable environment where he can relax and enjoy life at his own pace.

He's proof that senior dogs still have so much love left to give. Leo isn't looking for mountain hikes or marathon adventures—he's looking for a cozy couch, a loving family, and a peaceful place to spend his golden years.

🧡 Meet Kitty 🧡

If you're looking for a cat who believes personal space is completely overrated, Kitty is your girl!

This adorable orange lady is approximately 9-10 years old and comes with one extra-special feature: a cute little nub tail that only adds to her charm. 🐱

Kitty's favorite place in the world is your lap. Whether you're watching TV, reading a book, or working from home, she'll happily volunteer to be your shadow and soak up every ounce of love and attention you're willing to give.

She's previously coexisted with a dog and has been around other cats. While feline roommates aren't necessarily her favorite thing, she's more of a "grumble from a distance" kind of girl. She may hiss to express her opinion, but she's never been interested in fighting.

Kitty is simply looking for a cozy home, a warm lap, and someone to spoil her the way she deserves in her golden years. 🧡

🐾 HELP US BUILD FOR THE FUTURE 🐾

As our rescue grows, so does the need for safe, reliable space for dogs waiting for their forever homes. We currently have several long-term residents who deserve room to play, decompress, and thrive while they wait for the right family.

Our goal is to build a year-round outdoor foster and kennel space that will allow us to continue helping dogs through every season Alaska throws at us.

We're asking because we have several wonderful dogs and puppies who have been patiently waiting for their families. Some have been with us for months, not because there's anything wrong with them, but because finding the right match can take time.

Every dog comes with their own personality, quirks, strengths, and things they're still learning—just like people. While they may not be "perfect," they're perfectly deserving of love, patience, and a family to call their own.

🐾 River has been with us for 128 days. She's had two trial adoptions, but ultimately her active lifestyle wasn't the right fit. River is exactly who we've always said she is—a fun, energetic girl who loves adventure and needs someone who can keep up with her.

🐾 Rhea has been with us for 108 days and has had one trial adoption. After spending much of her life outdoors, she has been learning what it means to be an indoor family dog. She's made incredible progress and continues to grow every day.

🐾 Teddy has been with us for 101 days. He had one wonderful family interested in him, but they ultimately realized they weren't ready to adopt after losing a beloved pet. Teddy is still waiting for his chance.

🐾 Cowboy has been with us for 87 days. He had one meet-and-greet, but the dogs simply weren't the right match. Cowboy is still searching for his perfect people.

These dogs aren't looking for perfect families. They're looking for families willing to love them for who they are.
