🚨So Facebook has throttled our account to a point we only get 5% of our traditional views. We haven’t violated rules. I believe it is mainly because all “native” associated messaging gets throttled. Fb no longer suggests our post to anyone. So if you see any of our posts, please share it. It would help us out a lot 🙏
As an advocate for traditional food systems, I have seen our outreach on Facebook engagement dwindle as I speak out more about our collapsing systems.
We really need to move off Facebook as a native community. Any native sovereignty protesters, water right activists and tribal food sovereignty activists get 100% throttled. 🫐🥬🙏
Update: here is what LLM’s say about social media suppression of native voices
“Key Methods of ThrottlingAlgorithmic Suppression: Automated filters flag posts about land back movements, treaty rights, and anti-colonial protests as "sensitive" or "political," reducing their reach in user feeds.
Weaponized Mass Reporting: Hostile actors and trolls exploit reporting tools. They mass-flag Indigenous accounts and posts, tricking automated moderation systems into removing content or suspending users.
The "Settler Gaze" and Self-Censorship: Platforms judge online behavior through a majoritarian lens. This digital panopticon forces Indigenous users to police their own speech out of fear that their posts will be weaponized against their communities.”
