tanding of the patient’s history are essential components. Having the local veterinarian and team directly involved in the advanced diagnostics ensures complete understanding and making sure your questions are answered. We increase availability of advanced diagnostics for all animals and minimize patient stress by using a familiar environment with your client and team members, while keeping advanced diagnostics affordable. Dr. Maran will meet with you and your team, discuss the clinical history, evaluate the patient, and then perform the appropriate diagnostics. All results are immediately shared with your clinic and can be discussed prior to the conclusion of the appointment. You are welcome to be present for all portions of the cardiac consultation and ask questions as they arise. As a team, we can provide the best therapeutic plan for your patients and clients. If there is an unfamiliar disease process or questions you are not comfortable answering, Dr. Maran will explain the disease and management options and make sure you are confident in the ongoing management of each case. Your clients are welcome to join us for the cardiac evaluation and see the underlying disease process first-hand. When the consultation is complete, you will receive a comprehensive report via e-mail that can be printed or added to any electronic medical record system. Faxed reports are also available, if preferred. If any questions persist or arise, Dr. Maran remains available to assist in the management of your cases.

There are some cats that just walk through the door and immediately steal your heart... and Orion is absolutely one of them. ❤️🐈

Recently adopted as a stray by his mom (or was the Cat Distribution System simply doing its job? 😉), Orion visited his general practice, where thoracic radiographs raised concern for mild cardiomegaly.

Because of that finding, he was referred to us for a complete cardiac work up to determine whether there was any underlying heart disease.

From the moment he arrived, Orion was nothing but cuddles, snuggles, and nonstop purrs. He also proved himself to be a gentleman of distinguished taste, wasting no time devouring every bit of Churu offered his way. 😸🩷

Even better? His echocardiogram revealed **normal cardiac structure and function!** 🫀✨ The only finding was a mild physiologic tricuspid insufficiency, which is considered a normal, benign finding.

That means Orion doesn't need any routine cardiology rechecks unless new concerns arise.
..or unless his mom just wants to bring him by so we can spoil him a little more. Whether that's for Orion or for our staff, we'll let you decide. ❤️🐾

Did you know regular movement is crucial for your pet's heart health? Like us, pets need exercise to stay fit and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Here are some fun ways to keep them active:

🐶 Play Fetch or Tug-of-War: Great cardio for dogs!
🐱 Interactive Toys: Keep your cat moving with laser pointers or feather wands.
🏞️ Daily Walks: Get out in the fresh air together.
🏠 Indoor Obstacle Courses: Set up a mini-course at home for some fun challenges.

Movement matters—keep those tails wagging and hearts strong! 💪❤️

Paisley, the perfect, pretty, piggy pittie princess, made herself right at home during her consultation. 👑🐷🐶

She marched into **her** exam room, claimed **her** chair, and made it very clear that we were all simply there to admire her.

Not a bad way to spend a heart murmur work up if you ask us. 🫀🐾

"Alright, we're just going to take your pet to the echo suite to get their diagnostics started!" 🩺🐾

And our diagnostic protocol may also include a generous amount of treats... a few tricks... and maybe just a little bit of shameless bribery. 🍪✨

Cooper understood the assignment perfectly, and we're pretty sure he'd volunteer to come back.

Is your cat getting old? We're talking 10+ years of sitting on your laptop while you try to work…

Those sweet elder felines now have an increased risk of developing hyperthyroidism.

Hyperthyroidism is a common hormonal disorder in older cats, caused by an overactive thyroid gland. This condition leads to an increase in metabolism, which can have serious impacts on your furry friend's health.

👀Be on the lookout for:
➡️Sudden weight loss despite an increased appetite
➡️Increased thirst and urination
➡️Restlessness or hyperactivity
➡️Vomiting or diarrhea
➡️A dull coat or excessive shedding

If you notice any of these signs, schedule an appointment with your veterinarian.

Early detection and treatment are crucial in managing hyperthyroidism and preventing complications such as heart disease or high blood pressure.

Diagnosis made. ✅
Surgery completed. ✅
Now comes the best part... recovery! ❤️🐾

The morning after his procedure, Link returned for his postoperative recheck, and we couldn't have been happier with how he was doing. His overnight recovery was smooth, he was feeling great, and of course, he soaked up all the love and attention from our team. 🥹

Even better, his recheck echocardiogram showed a **maximum pressure gradient of just 16 mmHg**, an outstanding result that is consistent with only very mild residual stenosis and is not expected to have long term consequences for Link's heart. 🫀✨

The good news didn't stop there.

At his 1 month recheck with his primary cardiologist, they were happy to report that Link's **Double Chambered Right Ventricle (DCRV)** remained significantly improved, with only minimal flow restriction across the affected area.

From an unexpected heart murmur at a routine puppy visit to a successful minimally invasive procedure and an incredible recovery, Link's story is a wonderful reminder of why early detection and timely intervention matter.

Link will continue to be monitored with annual cardiology visits, and we are so honored to have been a part of his journey.

Here's to a lifetime of adventures ahead, Link! ❤️🐶🎉
