Something sweet has blossomed at Evening Shade Cottage. 🍓

I grew up in Pinellas Park, Florida, and fondly remember visiting the Strawberry Festival in Plant City as a child. Much as Cave City, Arkansas, is known for its watermelons, Plant City is known for its strawberries. This embroidery brings a little of those Florida memories into my Arkansas cottage.

The designs I create and choose are inspired by personal experiences, cherished memories, and things I love. Every stitch tells a story, and the designs I choose help tell mine. 💗

Something sweet is growing at Evening Shade Cottage 🍓

I am working on a new Victorian-inspired strawberry embroidery design, and this one brings back such happy memories.

As a little girl, Strawberry Shortcake was my favorite character. I still remember my mom making me a Strawberry Shortcake pillow—a sweet childhood memory that has stayed with me all these years. 🥰

Strawberry shortcake is also my favorite dessert, and even my wedding cake had strawberry filling! Strawberries have always been my favorite, so it seems only fitting to bring them into my designs. And who doesn’t love strawberries? 😍🍰

With winding vines, delicate blossoms, and beautiful red berries, I cannot wait to bring this design to life in stitches and share the finished piece with you.

I love quilting, and I wanted to offer something a little different at Evening Shade Cottage. 🥰 All of my exclusive designs will soon be available as embroidered quilt blocks, and “God is Good” is the first.

This piece began as a quilt label design. While stitching it, I reached the thread change where I would add the personalized wording—but it was so beautiful just as it was that I had to stop. I stitched the personalized label separately and decided to offer this version, too.

Use it in a quilt, make it into a pillow, table runner, or placemat, or frame it as a beautiful reminder: God is good, all the time. 🤍

This is one of my favorite designs to stitch. 🌹

I created this Victorian Christmas label to give a handmade quilt its own little piece of history. The Christmas tree and delicate details make a lovely finishing touch, and the wording is fully customizable.
