A sad day here at Kismet Farms Animal Sanctuary. Orrie passed away suddenly this morning while I was in the barn with them. One minute he was prancing around then he was on his side. I tried reviving him. Stuck my hand down his throat shook him but he was already gone. We think brain aneurysm. He wasn’t old. I rescued him a year before I started the sanctuary. He started his life as the mascot for pre schoolers but he got too rambunctious so they relegated him to a cage and fed him corn. Then a man wanted to buy him to barbecue. Thanks to the efforts of several of us that didn’t happen and he came to live here. He shared his paddock with Wilbur and Sasha and had a good life. He was very sneaky and almost bit the mayor’s hand when he came to visit. I am still in shock. And sad. Happy trails beautiful cantankerous Orrie.
