THE STORY OF ROSY. THIS precious piggy was abandoned in a barn after the owners got evicted. The landlord didn't know there was a pig in one of the stalls. This was south of Eugene. A group of vandals set fire to the barn and when the fire fighters arrived they discovered Rosy. Neighbors started feeding her. The stall was filthy. They cleaned it, brought blankets, straw. One of the folks helping was Erin Williamson. She started calling rescues and we were contacted. That was two years ago. Rosy was almost fat blind, grossly overweight, she could hardly walk. Rebecca Foquette transported her to a foster, OTP sanctuary, while we built a stall with appropriate ramps. Took one hour to unload her and have her walk a few feet when she was brought to KFAS. She has since lost over 50 lb and she runs up and down the ramp, twirls, and even styled her tail with a fancy dread lock. Here are some pictures to show her transformation. You can see in the first picture how overweight she was. Also shows the corral she was discovered in. Silver lining is we got to meet Erin Williamson, a super talented artist who has donated much art to the sanctuary. Thank you to all who helped Rosy including those who have tried to trim her hooves!!!!
