Remeber Elliot and Freida. They were found with their starved mom, Heidi off Hwy 120 in Big Rock, TN. Weigh in and 10 week distemper/parvo shot was done yesterday. Elliot weighed in at 8.62 lbs and Freida weighed in at 7.85 lbs. They will be getting another round of vaccinations at 12 weeks. They are already microchipped. Their DNA test is out and we are awaiting the results.

Winston is trying so hard not to let me see him steal the puppy toys. They are a good deal softer than his and he would destroy them in seconds. Poor Winston. It's not like he doesn't have a million of his own toys...

Puppies in training...Today we are working on them playing by themselves correctly, and with the correct items. They are on the right track now. That is of course after we learned not to pull on my skirt and bite my shoes.

We wanted to remind everyone that we are and have been accepting adoption applications for Heidi, Freida, and Elliot. Yes, they are still on a med-hold, but you are able to be pre-approved for adoption by going to our website and completing an adoption application. Update: After going through several applications Elliot, the gray puppy has already been adopted and will be going to his forever home when he is medically ready to go.

As always, our board checks all information on these applications and chooses the best fit for our dogs and for our forever families.

At Voiceless Moments Dog Sanctuary we help care for disabled, sick, and dying small dogs. We plan on writing for grants so that we can aid the public in caring for their sick animals in the hopes of keeping them at home.

On May 8th we took in Heidi and her pups Elliot and Freida. Below are pictures from that day and pictures of them today. Today we did 8 week vaccination and worming, microchipping, flea/tick prevention, and baths on the puppies. We are also completing the worming with Heidi. We do not have a now weight on Heidi, that will officially come when she goes for repeat bloodwork, but she was at a Body Condition Score of 1. Now she is at a 4 out of 9. It is a work in progress, but we are up for the task. Please consider donating to our ever growing veterinary bills and living costs. Every cent goes to our animal’s care.

SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAM WILL BE UP AN RUNNING AGAIN SOON. IF YOU KNOW OF ANY HOUSTON COUNTY PAGES THAT WE CAN POST TO TO GET INFORMATION OUT, PLEASE LET US KNOW IN THE COMMENTS.

We have received some good news for Houston County residents... We have received the Animal's First Grant from the state once again this year. We have not received the okay to start dispersing this money yet. Once we have the okay, we will once again put the registration form on our website. We will be going over our policies for our spay/neuter program while we wait for the okay. Last year we had several apply and not make their appointments. This ties up funds that someone else could be using sooner. We are limited to the $1,100 that was awarded. Once the funds run out, we will once again take the website page for registration down.

No other county's residents are approved for this program. Stewart and Montgomery County have programs of their own. If you would like to contact the program in Stewart County, please call Stewart County Animal Management Program - SCAMP at 931-232-1931. For Montgomery County contact Humane Society of Clarksville - Montgomery County. You may do an internet search for their website and register for an appointment there.
