Can you see the change in the way Ophelia now carries herself? From high-alert and tense to a softening of her carriage and tail posture. Still enjoying her walk and getting in sniffs, but no longer so intense and straining ‘Dad’’s arm. Even “Grandma” reports feeling confident in walking Ophelia without worry of being dragged down the street!

Introducing nose work to Finley and he is loving it! We’ve started with one of AKC’s standard odors - birch oil. It’s a simple and engaging game that you can play anywhere!

Our wonderful friend and colleague over at Valiant Canine Training has addressed this issue head-on.

Owners - never be embarrassed or guilty over advocating for your dog!

🐾 don’t try to touch random dogs
🐾 learn basic dog body language so you can recognize when a dog is uncomfortable
🐾 try saying “I like your dog” or “beautiful dog” and moving on with your day - you’ll make the owner feel good and you’ll give the dog a positive experience around a random human they don’t know (i.e. they don’t need to worry about having their space invaded)
