There is a profound sadness in seeing a newborn creature completely isolated in a vast, cold landscape. A lonely fawn was found shivering by the edge of a misty lake, her strength fading fast until rescuers wrapped her up in love and warmth. Her health is returning daily, and her eyes now reflect peace instead of fear.

The open water is supposed to be the domain of the free, not a place of injury and entanglement. We discovered this bird caught on a boat deck and carefully removed the hazards so it could take flight once again. Watching it soar over the water is a reminder of why we do what we do.
